Sometimes it really feels that way. I feel like if you look at his marriage it looks like Melania is incredibly unhappy. She flinches away pretty much every time he tries to touch her. I wonder if he’s blackmailing her or threatening her family to keep her as his trophy wife. She either is just as bad as he is or she’s trapped in a bad marriage.

somathemagical :  That’s funny because Hillary, and her dismissal of Bill’s antics, reminded me of Karla Homolka.

People in power are generally yucky.  Whether or not you think a particular one is abusive is just a matter  of your politics.

Look at who his closest advisors are. Steve Bannon and Michael Flynn (who’s now under investigation btw). Bannon  built a media empire by building a rabidly loyal base of people who believe anything they’re fed. Brietbart readers are angry, irrational and insular, I mean, if you don’t think like them, you’re not going to hang out with them, so there’s no way any fresh ideas are getting into that hive-mind. Flynn is too connected with Alex Jones and that infowars bullshit, and both he and his kid are more than willing to spread fake news. Once they’ve been indoctrinated, these loyalists will believe anything they’re told, and they’ll act on those beliefs. I think we are seeing the same tactics on a much larger scale, and it’s pretty scary.

Now more than ever, it’s important to support credible media, and that might mean you need to buy a subscription. Good journalists don’t work for free and it takes a whole lot of ad revenue to equal the revenue of  one subscription. And it’s important to hold the media accountable. Their job is to shine a light on the lies and distractionary tactics. When they do that, thank them and tell your friends. When they don’t, call them out.

No, KellyAnne, there is no such thing as “alternate facts.” That’s just a pretty word for lying.

I agree with everything OP said.  I’m a UK not a US Bee, but Trump has always made me cringe.  I always loved the UK apprentice and tried watching the US version a few years back, I couldn’t make it through a single episode because he just…UGH… Some people just make your skin crawl and he’s one of them.  I’m incredible uncomfortable with him having the power he does now, he just seems like a horrible, horrible person and horrible people rarely do things for the greater good.

somathemagical :  President DOUCHE (aka Trump) should be the poster child for NPD. Gaslighting is like their favourite hobby! 😉

Uh yes obviously. You may recognize these tactics from other dangerous political figures throughout history. Nazis relied heavily on propoganda. Look what’s going on in a Korea. Those who fail to learn the lessons of history blah blah blah.

I hadn’t really thought about gaslighting but I see what you are saying. I was talking to my manager earlier about the tweets and wondering why he’s trying to rile people even more. Will he do this for his whole presidency? It’s like he tweets the thoughts as they leave his brain then an adviser tells him he needs to backtrack.

Yeah, I fail to see genuine warmth between him and Melania.

allywed :  Agreed.

The fear of Trump has a name, Trump Derangement Syndrome.

All of this hysteria is not helping the cause of women.  Until women and Democrats can put together a rational, calm, mature stance against Trump they’re going to keep swilling around in circles and never accomplishing a thing.

The Women’s March, which in some areas was positive and productive, in DC was lead by some idiotic celebrities completely out of touch with middle America and decended into vile, crude and immature vitriol.  It turned my stomach worse than anything Trump has said or done so far.  So, is Madonna gaslighting America?

I’ve stated many times I’m an Independent.  I have moderately socially liberal values.  I also have common sense.  Trump is our President now.  Work with him and see if he can benefit our country.  If he does not, vote him out in 4 years.

Grow the hell up and put together some agendas that all women care about, not just some women.  Not every woman is pro-abortion.  Anti-abortion women were CUT OUT of the Women’s March in DC.  Way to go to unify women.  So stupid.  Which is why we are this situation right now with Republicans running everything, across the board, across the entire country.

The whole US is not California or New York or a large city.  Although Clinton won more votes in high population areas she utterly failed to win the most votes in the majority of the counties of smaller states, which is why she lost the election.

How about instead of focusing on hating Trump focus instead on reaching the voters who put Trump in office.  Voters like me.  I’m never going to listen to people who curse, loot, scream, threaten to cause harm and violence, regardless of their party or their anatomy.

If the Dems want to win back the Independents and working class, middle class people (emphasis on people – white, black, brown, male, female, transgender – enough of whom voted for Trump to win his victory) who put Trump in office they had better GET. A. CLUE.  This is not about parties or personalities.

This is about the silent majority being fed up with the meltdowns, violence and screaming hissy fits of the spoiled.

Put Keith Ellison or his ilk in charge of the DNC and be prepared for more failures for decades to come.

Sunfire :  The Million Woman March turned my stomach in every way imaginable and I am as feminist (and pro-choice) as it gets.

One reason it turned my stomach was because of its leftist political agenda.  Yes, I am a woman, but what does that have to do with leftist globalism.

But the biggest reason it turned my stomach was because of the organizers.  Who paid for these well orchestrated, simultaneous marche?  Permits were filed, stadiums were rented.  This cost money, BIG MONEY.  I suspect that Soros was behind all of it, since he was tied to every single organizer and organization connected with these supposedly “grassroots” demonstrations AROUND THE WORLD.

Talking about gas lighting, I am sick of being gaslighted by the media.  I miss the days when all you had was the evening news and morning paper.  Now we are targeted on all ends. On Facebook and even websites like Weddingbee.

None of us have no idea who anyone on this site is.  With money like Soros has, it costs nothing to get a few fake “brides” out there.  I know I sound conspiracy theoryesque, but I am just pointing out the reality of just how frightening this presence of nonstop media from unknown sources is.

It’s like we’re all permanently in high school and can’t escape.  The only reason Trump, specifically, would upset anyone is because of their personal politics.  We live in scary times.

allywed :  Excellent, well said.  I agree entirely.

Something else I’ve noticed – it seems to OK to mock Trump’s appearance.  It seems OK to mock Trump’s marriage.  It even seems OK to mock Trump’s beautiful youngest son.  I don’t get that.  Evil is evil is evil.  Perpetuating evil by continuing to revile Trump based on his personality and family is the height of hypocrisy.  The Democrats go stark-raving mad if one of their own is mocked but then turn right around and engage in the same or worse behavior.  That attitude is going nowhere.

Sunfire :  As always, couldn’t agree with you more.

What bothered me most about it was how pro-life organizations wanted to become partners were turned away due to their views…that’s not exactly promoting unity for all women.

Don’t even get me started on Madonna, I hope secret service shows up at her door soon…bc if that was anyone else in the world, that’s exactly what would happen.
