@annabelle288: Ya he didn’t notice the freesia, lisianthus, ivory roses, orchids, anything else at the wedding, just the baby’s breath and likely because it was ALL OVER our house. He’s so well intentioned it’s adorable, just his follow through is so odd sometimes. He’s also the master of getting me anything at all for Christmas because they were sold out of what he wanted to get me, so he gets me something else so I have something to open, and then I get to stand in line to return it and buy what he meant to get. Sigh. LOL!

I can count on one hand how many times Fiance has bought me flowers in our entire relationship (including before we were actually dating). And when he actually does he doesn’t pick them out, he has other people pick them out for him… He’s not really that kind of guy I guess.

One idea it to tell him/show him exactly what flowers you like. My husband does well with me because I like just plain roses. So he will get them at the grocery store..but I’m still happy because I like roses and sometimes he forgets to take the price off…but it’s ok. haha!
I can’t say how to get him to do it more often…I think we ALL struggle with that one 😉
But in terms of giving you what you like….can you be really specific so he knows exactly what you like?
It’s nice in theory that our men will “just know” what we like…but I think that only happens in the movies 🙂 Just tell him or show him pics of what you like and hopefully he can follow instructions 🙂

@floridabride12: Haha! My Fiance had a similar mishap when we were younger. He bought me some to be delivered to my dorm room while I was in college (awww) but…they were basically brown by the next day! Not his fault. Lol. But still it was funny. The vase was pretty though.
Honestly though, I voted “other” because he’s bought me flowers like 4 times? I think I’m getting some tomorow though! We’ll see how he does? haha.

@angela85: I’m with you, Fiance has never bought me flowers and we’ve been together for over 4 years!
He mentioned in passing yesterday that he was planning something for tomorrow. I’m hoping for a bit of romance, but would really like flowers!

@spraguebride: I’ve shown him, told him, bought them myself and pointed out the “pretty flowers” in our house. The man is hopeless, LOL! He’s probably bought me flowers less than 10 times in our 5+ years of dating, and yesterday was the first time since we’ve been married. Although I will say at least yesterday’s were the best of the bunch?! LOL! I think I was also super PMSing 😉
ETA – I’ll keep my fingers crossed for you all hoping for flowers from your guys tomorrow! Maybe the men will be inspired to be romantic this year!

I’ve teased him about how he should be a florist sometimes. He doesn’t always pick out my absolute favourites, but he always picks beautiful arrangements or flowers when he does get them.

@AmeliaBedelia: Yeah, his logic was that he wanted the best ones but knew if he waited they wouldn’t be good enough. Of course, I wasn’t mad, but he did give me black, dead roses on Valentines day….needless to say, we don’t talk about those flowers anymore.

awww he sends me flowers … he knows I like gerber daisies so there’s always at least one in there….

@HisIrishPrincess: He got me flowers delivered one year for Valentine’s Day. He scored HUGE points for that. Now that is romantic to me. It shows preplanning. Not like “Hey pull off the highway”, LOL!

Here’s one for you….. Darling Husband had to take his daughter to a Daddy – Daughter dance today for V-day. I kept telling him to get her flowers (she’s 10), and he kept saying he didn’t want to waste the money. Grrrrrr….
So, I stop after church at Trader Joe’s, pick up 2 awesome bunches of mini-sweetheart roses, $4.99 each. Both were pink, but I got light pink for her & some that were more fuschia for myself, since I know he wouldn’t get me any. Take them home, put his in a cup of water to wait for him to leave. Take mine out of the wrapping, trim them, put them in vase w/the flower food & water. I run out to pick up my daughter from her dad’s, get back and……..HE TOOK MY FREAKING FLOWERS!!!!! He left the wrapped up bunch in a cup in the sink & took MINE to his daughter, vase & all!!!! WTH???!!!
LMAO…..that’s what I get for trying to be nice….

My husband doesn’t send flowers for occasions but he does surprise me with flowers every now and then on random days. Now, I do not care for stuffed animals at all, but there is one that he gave me once that is constantly ‘recycled’. Every now and then, I get home from work and “Teddy” is sitting out by a vase of flowers. To me, this is much sweeter than flowers being sent to my office. He did surprise me with flowers on Friday for Valentine’s Day — gorgeous roses that were an orange-y, pinkish, reddish, color. He did good!!

Fiance has only sent me roses of varying colors…no other flower. Even though he knows my favorites are tulips. He says that roses will last longer. Since he is thoughful enough to surprise me from time to time with flowers without me asking, I just buy my own tulips. Although I am hoping he sends me some for V-Day this year.

@soon2bS: LOL! Maybe he was being “considerate” so that she wouldn’t have to put them in a vase herself?! Did he hear that on a guest etiquette show or something?! LOL! Too cute!

My guy is not the typical Mr. Romance, but he has brought me flowers at the right times, including when my beloved cat died. I am blessed.
