I know eventually the cemetary will remove items.  I think once a week or so.  I would have thought they would remove the vodka right away though.  Interesting!

I’m sure if the cemetary workers knew there was vodka on the gravesite the would have removed it right away.  They are probably used to removing flowers and the like every so often but not every day.

Most cemetaries remove those items regularly.  Arlington Cemetary actually will preserve items left in Section 60, which is the section from the current war.  They are cataloging items left in hopes of creating a museum to honor the fallen and their families.  They collect notes, whiskey bottles, ultrasound pictures, family photos, etc.  The families know and I almost wish every cemetary had the resources to do things like this.

I was reading an article about it yesterday, and it was really touching.
