This is going to sound ridiculous. But, I was driving on the road, and the girl in the car in front of me threw a plastic cup and then a plastic bottle out the window. I was furious, because honestly, who does that crap? So, I took a pic of the license plate. The driver saw me (admittedly I was stupid with anger and didn’t try to hide what I was doing) and at the next light got out of the car and was waving his arms around and mouthing what appeared to be, “You better not!” Anyway, he got behind me and I was scared he would try to follow me, but he eventually got back in his lane and did nothing. I’m thinking now they took a pic of my license plate.
I searched online and found a phone number to call and report those who litter. I completed that process, and it was completely anonymous for me. However, now I’m worried because when this guy gets his post card or whatever, he may now have my license plate. He might retaliate in kind, or he may try to find me or something.

You’re right, it does sound ridiculous.
How in fuck did they notice you take a picture from behind them? He got out of his car at a light to wave his arms at you? I mean I guess I get your concern because he seems like he’s on drugs or something to get out of his car like that. But they’ll probably just get a fine if anything at all it’s not really worth revenge..

I don’t think there’s any way to actually find you from your licence plate

I typically mind my business unless it involves imminent danger (ie. confronted a woman for leaving her dog in the car in the summer for at least 20 minutes….) because people are NUTS.
It’s not like they can ticket her based off a civilian reporting the individual. I would imagine that they would need proof. So I doubt they will retaliate against you.

I hope they can’t find you. I cant stand when people litter!!! It’s so infuriating and even more upsetting that people throw a fit when you try to hold them accountable for their actions. Like how are you going to get mad when you’re the one in the wrong. 😒

Yeah, being confrontational in that context was a bad decision. I would be pissed too, but someone who is throwing shit out their window at you is clearly cracked. Don’t react, just get away from them. You don’t want to end up getting the shit beaten out of you over it. The police likely do not give a shit. It’s your word against there’s, there’s no injury or incident luckily.
