Hey guys, I’m a California bee and I have to go to 4 trainings at our vendor’s headquarters in Verona, Wi. I’ll be staying in Middleton. What should I do when I have off time? Where should I eat? Any suggestions on interesting/best things to see? 3 of the trainings are in August, and one is in October.

Let me guess…EPIC!
Madison is great!
Heres some suggestions:
The farmers market (if youre there on a saturday) is awesome-at the capitol square.
Welcome to the Dane County Farmers’ Market
Lots of good restaurants near the Capitol square too…Graze, Old Fashioned, etc.

if you like running, walking or biking check out Picnic Point by the university or the arboretum.

Williamson street (called Willy Street) has a lot of great Restaurants too! And monroe street has some cute little shops.
#1 personally for me would be to grab a beer and sit at the UW Terrace (memorial union) in summer!

you also will be near State Street which you can walk down to the Capitol.
its a safe city. i hope you have fun!

I was going to guess Epic too because my brother works for them. 🙂 I have no idea what to do out there because I only visit once per year, but my brother always takes me to the most delicious restaurants!

I guessed Epic too! It sounds so magical. Madison is such a fun area. Just wander down State Street and you’ll have lots to see, do, eat.

Come to porktropolis in sun prairie! Best bbq around! (OK maybe cuz I work there)
Maduros is a really cool cigar bar off the capital square I recommend, and the vintage downtown has a very chill atmosphere and wide variety of beers and dollar tap beers Monday nights. You can’t come to Wisconsin and not try all the beers (if you really want variety, hop cat is the place!)
Also if you get a chance do the Saturday farmers market on the square.
Also sassy cow in the sun prairie area is really neat!

Ah, Epic training 🙂 I think lilyflowers covered most of it. Capitol Square and Willy St are great places to hang out. State Street is a lot more college-y… much younger crowd. New Glarus brewery is probably too far for you to visit, but definitely try their beers at restaurants. Definitely don’t miss the UW terrace!
