I have to give a 5 minute presentation today at work, and my fear is so bad that I did not sleep last night and I have been sick all morning. It is in front of about 60 people, and I have practiced it over and over again. But I am always afraid of public speaking. Its just really, really, really bad this time. I want to cry.
I realize how ridiculous this is. I just don’t know how to get over this fear 🙁

I never gave one for work but all throughout college I gave many presentations. I think the longest was 25 minutes. The best thing that worked for me was literally practicing it over and over, which you have. You’ll do great! Good Luck!

I was terrified of public speaking for most of my life. I think practice is the only way to go here. Once you get comfortable in front of people, it stops being so scary. I used to literally tremble in front of people.
Take some deep breaths, run through what you want to say in front of someone else, and don’t stare down at notecards. Think of it like a conversation with one or two people in the room you feel comfortable with. Good luck!

I am currently taking Speech right now and I think that the best advice I can pass on to you is once you get up there, just take in a deep breath and begin..and NEVER admit you are nervous or apologize for it : ) Good luck….Too me the hard part is starting it but when you know what you are talking about and practiced it just comes naturally and you’ll be fine! GOOD LUCK!!
