@stacycats: I know this wasn’t directed at me but in all honesty, I can promise you that growing up as a black boy in a housing project in the south where drugs and crime were very much the norm, his sense of right and wrong and what is and is not socially acceptable would be quite different from yours or mine.

And regarding running it in secrecy… In many areas, people “run numbers,” patronize a “hustle man” who sells bootlegg movies or items that have “fallen off of a truck” and all kinds of other illegal things and it is a known and accepted practice in the area and in that society.

@tootietoo2: haha glad you liked that 😀

I do think he should be given opportunity, when he shows that he’s truly ready. But if you read the article, all he’s concerned about is his image. Like Jayce said, he should volunteer or give money to shelters, it would go a long way towards the public accepting him again rather than just owning a dog and putting on a smile for the camera.

@snuggielove: Agreed. And yep, it’s just 2. The one in Tahoe didn’t “come to light” until like a year after the alleged rape anyway, I think.

@tootietoo2: Why thank you. 🙂 It’s my nn.

And yeah, I mean there are all kinds of loopholes. But as a person, we do have the ability to google (ha!) and we have the ability to leave a lot more so than an animal. Plus, rape charges (that go through) are usually posted online for all to see, at least in my area.

@2shy2Bbf: You don’t have to believe he isn’t a rapist, but the courts do. And like snuggielove said, it’s 2.

@2shy2Bbf: honestly, i don’t know about the video thing. But, what would it have shown? I doubt it had footage of them in the bathroom together.

@meliss: Totally agree!!!!

If one were to ask a dog, “Would you like Michael Vick to be your owner?”, what do you think the dog would say? Enough said.

Just sickening to even think about a dog being given to Vick…

@ snuggielove

Both articles that I provided stated that this was Ben’s 3rd accuser.

I don’t think it’s any of my business or anyone else’s whether or not Michael Vick should be able to get a dog. He’s a football player…not a saint.

I agree with PPs who said that having an emotional attachment to a dog or pet might help him understand why what he did was so wrong.

Also, I feel like most of us have no right to judge dog fighting so harshly when I’m betting most of us aren’t vegetarians so hardly saints when it comes to animal cruelty. I love animals and have a cat and dog I love like children, but I’m still pretty sure Michael Vick didn’t actually take a dog and kill it with his own two hands.

NO NO NO!!! Anyone who thinks he should be allowed to own any type of pet should read “the lost dogs” this book gives you just a glimpse of how invovled he really was. you dont rehabilitate from acts like this and no matter where you are from what he did was a crime and is not excusable. I too live in a small southern community and never would dog fighting be brushed under the rug or punished with just the slap of a hand which is what IMO happened with Vick
