(Closed) NWR: MOH calls me at 11pm to dog-sit while she goes out. I say no. Bad friend?

No, you’re not a bad friend. I wouldn’t of taken the dog either. If it was a true emergency or if she had asked me earlier in the day, then yes, I would have watched the dog. No way am I unexpectantly baby sitting a dog after I already went to bed. I think it’s a little selfish on her part to get angry with you.

I have an awesome dog who goes a lot of places with us. I would never put him in a strange environment (you said e was strange to you, so I assume you havent met him) just so I could have a few drinks.

I think your reaction was totally fine.

you are not a bad friend. you are a great friend with how much you already help her out by being her back up sober driver all the time.

No way!!!  I would never do that. Part of what makes having a dog such a ridiculous responsibility is stuff just like that. 

Calling late because you shouldn’t drive home is one thing…  wanting to use you to watch my dog is a whole different story.

My reaction would’ve been close to your FIs 🙂

I would have hung up on her. Why couldn’t she take the dog home?
