If he was just wormed what you are probably seeing are all the parasites getting kicked out by medicine.  I’m not sure about the vomiting but it’s likely he doesn’t feel great from a combination of the wormer and the pissed off worms.  A trip to the vet is definitely a safe bet.

my pup’s never had worms, but he has gotten sick from eating random crap. have you tried feeding him a “bland” diet? ie plain rice, chicken broth, plain boiled chicken? usually when my guy is sick with vomitting and diarrhea, that’s the first thing the vet suggests doing. also, is your puppy still drinking water? dehydration can be serious…

Wait, your GROOMER dewormed him? I’ve never heard of groomers doing that, what exactly did they do? Just curious.

Also, is he on heart worm medication? and Flea/Tick preventatives?

that’s good that he’s drinking water! i have no idea if there’s such thing as too much, unless he has accidents inside! we always just refill the water bowl whenever he drinks it all

this sounds really gross, but did you save the poop with the worm to take to the vet? i think they can only tell if he has worms through a fecal sample…or maybe that’s just the easiest way to tell, xrays are really expensive…

ooooh he’s a really little pup! i think it’s normal for the babies to have worms, and it probably is just the dewormer doing it’s job–our breeder warned us that there could be some worms when we brought our pup home at first, and my fiance’s parents’ dog had a couple when they first got him. definitely a good call to get the pup and the fecal sample to the vet

I’m glad he’ll be okay! My pup wasn’t feeling well today either–wasn’t eating or drinking until an hour ago when I gave him some rice, chicken, and carrots.  His stomach must have been hurting.  ๐Ÿ™  Makes me feel so bad for the poor little guy.

I’m glad he’ll be ok. I wouldn’t agree that worms are “normal” though. None of my dogs have ever had worms, when they were puppies or otherwise. We’ve only had two or three fleas/ticks the entire time we’ve owned dogs too.

excuse my language toffee–when i said “normal” i meant “more common for puppies who haven’t been immunized than older dogs who have probably been vaccinated.”

way to word-smith a post that was just meant to be helpful and sympathetic…

@ottowabride–i hope your pup’s doing better today!
