I read the books and I was slightly amazed at what a good job they did of making scenes that in the book made me think ‘this is utterly ridiculous, disgusting, and stupid’ seem if not logical at least vaguely reasonable/plausible…..

    did that do it? no?

the wedding scene was kinda pretty!

Jasper only looks constipated for 40% of his screen time. A big improvement from 90% in the previous movies.

    that’s all I’ve got.

@imalittlebirdie: Alice was really the only character I liked in the books. Jasper wasn’t bad.

I liked the books. The movies, meh. This movie, I literally LOLed when things weren’t supposed to be funny. If anything, go see it just to see what the hype is. Go during a matinee so you can save a little $$. It wasn’t HORRID, but it was definitely not great (imo), but worth the look just to say you did 🙂

@indibee: Oh I was totally cracking up at completely inappropriate times. I got looks.

@imalittlebirdie: Not sure how to get a SO to go….how’s his mocking ability?

My FI went to see it with me but he looooves werewolves so he was more than willing even though he liked New Moon better. Maybe mention werewolves or suggest he see’s the honeymoon scenes to get ideas of your perfect honeymoon? The honeymoon was beautiful!!

i haven’t seen any of the twilight films, but a friend of mine was dragged to it and said the birthing scene was crazy bloody and weird. it’s got a 27% on rotten tomatoes. happy feet 2 is not much better at 42%. the muppets, however, is standing strong at 98%. i just saw it today in celebration of my mom’s birthday, and it was awesome! so adorable and funny! if you are going to spend money on a movie, i totally recommend muppets!

@imalittlebirdie: as an added bonus of the muppets, there’s a toy story short right before the movie! and the new trailer for pixar’s brave….which looks GORGEOUS! 😀

I haven’t managed to get completely through any of the Twilight books or movies. I know I don’t like the books, because it’s rare for me to find a book I just can’t read. But I’m debating going to see the movies at least to see how the storyline is. This thought process made me click on this thread.

I am now convinced I want to see the Muppets. Ha.

I saw it at the midnight premiere with my sister, and I’m seeing it again with some girlfriends on Monday. I’m not really a fan of Twilight, but both the books and movies are entertaining as long as you don’t scratch the surface too much and reveal the thinly veiled misogyny and anti-feminism going on. I think this one is probably the best yet, the wedding was pretty and there were some good werewolf fights. I’m happy to see it again with my friends who haven’t seen it yet, but only because I have a free movie ticket voucher that expires on Tuesday. Plus Taylor Lautner is HOT.

@Roux: Cheers to that, Lautner is a studmuffin!

@imalittlebirdie: Gonna have to go with Kala_way and say that it’ll be a fun one to mock. Maybe that will suck him in. 🙂
