I am flat on my back today with terrible low back pain.
I am waiting for the doctor’s office to open to see if they can squeeze me in since my appointment isn’t until Tuesday of next week.
Fiance is still in London so there’s no one home to help me out and I can hardly walk around the apartment due to weakness/pain.
I even didn’t compete in all my classes at my horse show yesterday because my back started to hurt and I didn’t want to end up flat on my back again.
Guess it was already too late.
Anyway, I’m just feeling pretty bad and sorry for myself at the moment.
I’m also scared about what might be wrong and worried the answer might be to stop riding for a while or worse.

That sounds horrible, I’m sorry. Do you have any idea what caused it? is it recurring or totally new?
Feel better! I hope the doctor can fit you in soon.

It’s recurring. But it used to only happen once every 6 months or so.
This is the 3rd time in a month and a half I’ve had severe lower back pain (with radiating pain down my leg). Right now I’m getting waves of pain into my left hip bone and down my thigh.
I’m really hoping it is just a weakness issue and I can do physical therapy to strengthen my back.
As far as what caused it, I’m not sure. I was at a horse show yesterday and it was FREEZING so I decided to change into my show coat in the car rather than outside. I guess when I was twisting around to get my warm coat off and show coat on I tweaked my back.
I rode in one class and was in pain by the time I came out, so I withdrew from the other.
