I set a goal every year to read one book each week and am a little behind this year! I just finished reading Girl Waits With Gun, which I enjoyed so much that I pre-ordered the sequel.
What are you Bees reading?

The shopaholic series by Sophie kinsella, mindless chick lit but it’s good!
Best books I ever read were the River God series by Wilbur Smith. Fab if you like ancient Egyptian stuff

I just read two books. One was The Revenant (which the movie was very loosely based off of) and that was really good! Second book I finished was The Silent Wife. That was also good, the ending was a little disappointing. I am currently reading The Third Wife. about a quarter of the way through. Trying to give it a chance and I hope it gets more interesting soon. Not bad, just goes from a possible story twist to boring really quick.

lindsayE: What was mine by Helen Klein Ross was really good!
I’m currently reading Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children and it is SO GOOD!!! I’ve never read a book like it before and am super excited there are 2 more after this one!

Snow Falling on Cedars, this was a yard sale purchase years ago and I just recenlty got around to reading it. Really enjoyed it! I also recommend everyone read The Art of Racing in the Rain, especially all dog lovers.

I found a cute quote from Wild Awake by Hilary T. Smith for my mom to read at my wedding. Once I actually read the book I loved the quote even more, because it was probably my favorite book ever!
I also really liked I’ll Give You the Sun by Jandy Nelson.

mritz06: I loved Snow Falling on Cedars when I read it a few years ago. Maybe I’ll read it again. It was also a decent movie, I think with Ethan Hawke

weatherbug: I just finished reading Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children too!! I have the second book coming in tomorrow and I can’t wait. It was so good! I didn’t put it down and I think I finished it in less than 48 hours because I just couldn’t stop. Highly recommend!

I’m not really into historical novels but I just finished The Aviator’s Wife (not to be confused with The Pilot’s Wife, which is also very good!). It’s about Charles Lindbergh and his family told from his wife Anne’s perspective. Really interesting but kind of sad.
Right now I’m reading Up in the Air. I saw the movie with George Clooney years ago and loved it and found the book in a used bookstore. I love it.
Lots of aviation-themed books for ya! I’m married to a pilot so I guess he’s finally rubbing off on me. 🙂

lindsayE: I’m so bad when it comes to reading, when I think of doing it I end up here on Weddingbee or Pinterest I have got a biography to read, but get distracted.

I am reading Every Man in This Village is a Liar; Megan Stack. It is a powerful story on war.

I just finished I’m Glad About You by Theresa Rebeck. It was a good read but the end was extremely disappointing. Before that, I read Life and Other Near Death Experiences by Camille Pagan – soooo good!

You guys are suggesting some great looking stuff that I’ve never heard of! This is great!!

CatyLady: I started setting book goals for myself a few years ago because I’m happier when I’m a good reader, but I got really bad about using my free time on social media and pursuits that didn’t make me as happy as books do.

I’m just finishing Franzen’s latest tour de force … Purity. It’s brilliant (how many different ways can he get Oedipus in there???), but I’m feeling a bit oppressed by the darkness and cynicism.
