Is anyone else annoyed by facebook “contests?” Like, “Go here and fan this photographer and then vote for my baby/cat/singing fish 800 times and I will win a keychain!! If you don’t, it means you hate my child! I am going to post this 50 times a day until the contest is over!”
I find them so obnoxious. It’s like a tupperware party that you can’t avoid.

That’s one way to get blocked from my news feed!

I don’t actually get those, is it a common thing? I could only invision my annoying teenage cousin doing that, and luckily she’s block from my feed so I don’t see her status updates every 10 minutes! I say block ’em!

I don’t get too many of those, thank goodness!

I have someone that submits their child and pets into these contests every week – they are on the blocked list now

Two of my friends enter their kids in these contests every couple of months. I don’t block them because they’re otherwise awesome people, but I do hide all the contest posts.
ETA: The ones I really used to hate were the gift card contest notifications. No voting, no “Like” button pressing, just pure wasted news feed space. “Janie Janie Bo Bainey just entered to win a $100 Walmart Gift Card!” Uh…good for her? Luckily those don’t crop up that much anymore.

@mightywombat: “It’s like a tupperware party that you can’t avoid.” I like that. A lot.
I have one right now for last year’s lab partner (we also were in band but we didn’t talk till lab) to vote for a haiku contest. Sorry, you’re a great person. I don’t even put that much effort is voting for our QB for the Heismen.
Thankfully he doesn’t repost, FB does it for him (that new topic grouping nonsense)
