I’ve heard good things about Kat von D lock-it and Fenti beauty in terms of matte. Haven’t actually tried it though

when I got my wedding makeup done, she matched me to make-up forever’s Ultra HD foundation. It’s a light to medium dewy coverage, not too crazy but buildable. It’s my first real expensive upgrade foundation from my drugstore tinted B.B. cream. I told my MUA I had sensitive skin and a dry t zone and oily everywhere else and she recommended me MUF UHD for my skin. I also got two face’s hangover beauty rx primer and think it does a decent job holding the foundation on but I’m still trying it out so we’ll see how it goes

just do lots of research, try it on and do lots of trial and error and buy from a store that has an amazing return policy! Goodluck! 🙂

I don’t wear foundation often but I’d heard such great things that I splurged and got the Fenty foundation for an on camera thing I had to do recently. I really liked the coverage and smoothness it gave my skin. I got a lot of compliments on it. My preference is still no foundation but that one felt like a good choice when needed.

DaniGirl03 :  double wear isn’t too matte or glossy. You don’t need to add much to get medium coverage. I usually go with a light coverage. It’s very buildable.

Fenty Beauty and Kat Von D are both cruelty-free and not tested on animals! The rest of the suggestions are not, if that’s important to you. Boots is as well, but sadly not available to us in Canada 🙁

I use a Canadian Brand – Lise Watier. I also have Marcelle. When I’ve used those two up, I’m going to give Fenty a go.

DaniGirl03 :  You can get it at Sephora, Hudson’s Bay and Holt Renfrew.

The finish…I’d say it’s not too matte nor too dewy.  Sephora describes it as a radiant, silky finish and I tend to agree.  Here’s what it looks like on me..

DaniGirl03 :  OMG,  I tried out a new foundation today and I love it. It’s the Graduation cream foundation palette. Very high coverage and very smoothing on the skin. I topped it with banana powder and it was demi matte and high coverage and smooth over my acne scars. It’s definitely a foundation you have to be careful with since a little goes a long way. I picked up the neutral 1 palette and it contains several different light neutral shades and is a perfect match.

If you can find a color match, I love the Milani Conceal and Perfect. I swear it covers everything, and it’s only like $10.

I love the smashbox photo finish 15-hour wear foundation. I also wear their BB cream in summer when I’ll be outside and need 30+ SPF.

DaniGirl03 :   I don’t know if you live in Canada but I buy mine at Shoppers Drug Mart. They have always had it in stock. The Bay sells it too but they don’t always have it in stock or at least my colour.

I have weird skin where it can be oily and yet dry but the foundation leaves a smooth finish. I do use a primer to help even it out. I am using younique right now but prefer Gosh anti-wrinkle primer which can also be found at Shoppers.

I have recently decided to switch to organic makeup without harsh chemicals, and after an extensive  research I got Osmosis Colour CC cream – it has light to medium coverage, lifts and illuminates. I love it, performs very well on my skin and gives glowing look, and you cannot even see it on my skin.  For the days when I want full coverage I got Jane Iredale Glow Time BB cream – it is a good one too, does not get cakey after all day wear. Like it so far.

I have been using Estee Lauder Double Wear for 5+ years.  It is medium to full coverage, very buildable.  For everyday wear I apply it on top of moisturizer and lightly touch up (usually just my chin) in the afternoon or evening.  For events, etc. I apply it on top of primer and set it with Laura Mercier translucent setting powder and it will last all night.

When I first started using this foundation my skin was on the dryer side, so it worked really well with that.  Now I have more of a combination skin and currently have some dry patches around my nose.  I have to exfoliate and moisturize the dry patches to make sure they aren’t too highlighted by the foundation.  Overall I have been happy with the foundation.  I spend ~$40 on it every 6-8 months, so while expensive, it doesn’t break the bank.

I just got Kat Von D Lock It. I liked how long it lasted, but I have senstive skin so I’m hoping it won’t cause breakouts.
