tiffanybruiser : Lol! Well we both agree his base loves it. But I might not be totally sold that he’s misusing these terms on purpose. At least in the way you describe. I think he’s just that in the dark about it and unwilling to learn because that would mean he might be wrong. He’s fueled by narcissism and a need to be praised, nothing more. It’s why he remains in his bubble of reality.

I haven’t had apeaceful feeling since this racist, serial sexual abuser was elected. I have not felt secure in my government’s ability to protect us since 9/11 and the subsequent anthrax attack.

Katie-Didnt : My state reps are Democrats as well! I live in a relatively liberal area.
I know I can keep protesting, voting, and support my senators and representatives… and I will. Finances are really tight right now with Darling Husband in grad school, but I try to donate a little when I can.

In today’s edition of “DAFUQ DID THEY JUST DO”:
1, Congress rolls back a gun control restriction which previously prevented people who were recieving disability for certain mental illnesses from being able to pass a background check to buy a gun. These people are suffering from extreme mental illness, to the point that they cannot work. Allowing them easy access to guns can put them at risk, or their communities. http://bigstory.ap.org/article/bf29ce0c4ba84550b51f503e7618d901/house-gop-aims-scrap-obama-rule-gun-background-checks
2. From the same article, they have also rolled back a rule that prevented coal mining operations from dumping debris into streams.
3. Kellyann Conway cites the Bowling Green Massacre as justification for the immigration ban on Muslims. There was no such event. There never was a “Bowling Green Massacre.” While there was a foiled bombing plot, the facts in that case still don’t support the Muslim ban. And while it could definitely have been an honest mistake, no one is going to rush to Conway’s defense because she lies all the time. https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/morning-mix/wp/2017/02/03/kellyanne-conway-cites-bowling-green-massacre-that-never-happened-to-defend-travel-ban/?utm_term=.bd124026b423

Katie-Didnt : Yup! I am also donating to NPR because I believe they have a lot of integrity and will call Trumps lies out. I think free press is paramount. This whole thing is a fucking nightmare. Also apparently book stores are selling out of 1984, Animal Farm, and Fahrenheit 451 so at least folks are reading? Or maybe they are afraid these books will disappear.

Horseradish : Oh for fucks sake! I have a family member who works with the severely mentally ill in a secure facility but sometimes people are let out. She has one patient who draws pictures of her and tells her how much he’s in love with her and how sexy she is. Now I have to worry that this dude could get out and buy a gun. Fantastic.

Horseradish : Sean Spicer also accused Iran of attacking one of our navy ships when in fact it was a Saudi ship attacked my Houthi rebels from Yemen.
He apparantly got his information from Fox News who falsely reported that a U.S. ship was their target. It wasn’t.
Oh and they’re going to roll back Frank-Dodd to let Wall Street play with our retirement funds and pensions again. Yaaaaaaaay. 🙁

And Steve Bannon’s psycho outlook on how to affect change in Washington is to burn it all down, apparently.

So glad our commander in chief has swiftly weighed in on the incident at the Louvre this morning, in which exactly zero people were harmed. Really a relief to know he’s on top of this.
Meanwhile, still no comment on the attack in the mosque in Canada carried out by a white Trump supporter in which six Muslims were killed and many more injured. Help me understand, people.
ETA: I see that a soldier sustained minor injuries in the attempted Louvre attack…updating my post to prevent more alt fact spreadage!
