Note: please, I don’t want to start all kinds of drama. If you would like discuss this please, let’s agree to disagree rather than fight.
Seriously this video gave me chills. God is not hate; he is love, and if he wasn’t, why in the world would he have died for our sins (and sent his only son to die for us)?

ugh that makes me sick. Religion sometimes causes more harm than good. It’s these kind of people that give religion a bad rap. That poor girl. These people are so close minded that they don’t realize how ridiculous they sound.

I just feel like how is this helping people? Their beliefs are so overpowering that you could never be friends with them, or even take the moment to even want to listen to them. Ugh! So nasty.

I don’t think someone with that much hatred in them actually understands the Christian message.

That is really sad. I am a Christian and it makes me crazy to have those people claiming to be the same as I am.

I can’t remember how many children Fred Phelps had, but more than one was dis-owned by him. They were disowned because they spoke out not only against the church, but against HIM. He was a mean, mean man. Physically abusive until he was too old and too weak to beat his children anymore, but he continued to abuse in other ways, and to spread his message of hate.

It was funny because when they tried going to Winnipeg to protest at the funeral of that poor man that was beheaded on the greyhound, they ran away in fear. Afraid of the good people of Winnipeg who went out to the funeral to protect his family from these horrible monsters.

The Westboro Baptist Church is a VERY disturbing organization. This is the group that holds rallies at military funerals celebrating because according to their dogma, it is God’s punishment for homosexuality. It’s my understanding that a large portion of the members are all related to each other.
To quote Ghandi, “I like your Christ, I do not like your Christians. Your Christians are so unlike your Christ.”
I think Jesus would be pretty sad about all this hate 🙁

Being disowned by her family was probably the best thing to happen to her. Those Westboro people are insane. That’s not religion, that’s mental illness.

Honestly, I pity them. I hope those of us that are religious, pray for them. I don’t hate them, I don’t despise them, I’m sad for them.
And I’m glad that girl recognized hate. It takes a lot of courage to stand up to that, let alone your own family.

I always wonder how they will be received on judgement day. When they are judged accordingly I wonder if they will understand it then or not…

Those people are nuts. Some of them protested at my old high school this year. A bunch of local churches formed a counter protest, which was nice. They’re truly horrible people and I wish nothing but bad things for them. Why can’t they go out David Koresh Waco-style? Ugh.

They were turned away at the border when they tried to come to Vancouver to protest the Laramie Project. Thank goodness…I don’t understand how anyone can be filled with so much constant hatred.

I just… don’t get it. I don’t understand why someone would want to live their life filled with so much hate. Honestly, they are not worth any more energy from me than it takes to pity them.
