That blows! I am so very fortunate that my hubs is a mechanic, so i don’t have to pay anything but parts.  Did you ask the guy if everything was a necessity right now? Unfortunately, a lot of places will take advantage of women because they don’t know any better and will pay to fix things that don’t need to be done right now or don’t evenr eally need to be done at all.  If by the wheel liners, you mean the wheel wells that go over your wheels (the plastic part attached to the car), and its scraping, alls that needs to be done is cut off the part that is scraping, not replace the whole damn thing

get a second opinion and have your fi take it in instead. many places take advantage of women who don’t know much about cars.

Me too! Car repairs are the worst because they are always unexpected. Darling Husband bought a truck from his mechanic which turned out to be a lemon, but he trusted his mechanic and the guy said everything was fine. Well 6 weeks later everything starting going wrong, we have put over $5,000 into this truck, including another $800 on Monday. We bought my car brand new and while it lost it’s value that was the best thing we did.

@kitzy: agreed. My dad always comes with me for this reason.

@MrsSl82be: <

exactly what she said! I am so glad Fiance has decent mechanical skills because I have heard so many stories of shops doing this!
