Lol I love the one about alarm clocks. I can’t believe the last one! I’ve never seen anybody bring food to church. I can understand diabetics bringing in granola bars and such for emergencies.

@FloretteLiz: Yeah, medical conditions and small children are one thing…however, at my in-laws’ parish, they’ve really had to crack down on people bringing in Starbucks and fast food.

@peaches13: Goodness! When I was reading the post I had this mental image of people sneaking cheetos out of their purses. Lol. I think I grew up in an area that is rural enough to avoid seeing fast food and whatnot brought in. The closest fast food joint is far enough away that you could certainly finish it before getting to church.

ETA: About the cheetos, I can just imagine somebody licking their fingers and it sounding really loud in a church. I always imagine the stuff that grosses me out the most… Yuck!

@FloretteLiz:   ahh!   Yeah, this is definitely in a more urban city.  The priest cracked down hardcore–I think he even said in the homily, “if you’re eating right now, I better not see you in the Communion line.”  Valid point, since (with the exception of medical conditions, of course) these people aren’t respecting the pre-Communion fast…

Hilarious! I grew up in a parish that dressed very conservatively for mass, and my new parish—not so much.  It’s been a real shocker sometimes seeing what people wear, but I guess at least they are coming to church!

@Mrs.Anchors: Okay, animal crackers for kids, or coffee BEFORE mass starts. People actually eat DURING MASS??? lol

This gave me a giggle.

@Mrs.Anchors: I like the last one.  I sneak in our prayers together as the blessing before meals!  it’s actually become our thing now.
