I know we had a thread similar to this a few months ago, but I thought I would bring this topic back to the bee because last time it was so much fun and I think that’s something we all need right now.
The only difference here is that I’d love it if you ladies and gents would share stories that are creepy and 100% true, whether they happened to you or someone you know.
To start, I’ve been reading this for the past few days about outdoorsy/camping horror stories and it’s been extremely entertaining and time consuming to say the least: http://www.survivalistboards.com/showthread.php?t=57236&highlight=creepy

I always have something to contribute to these threads. I don’t know how “creepy” this is but here’s the first one….
So my lovely godmother passed away last september. her name was Donna. Starting from about 2 months after she passed until now I get random calls on my work phone that say “outside call 201” which is basically like a no caller id number from outside of our internal lines. When I answer it a man’s voice just says “donna? hello donna?” and when I say “no sorry, may I ask who this is” they hang up. So that could be pure coincidence. I see that. BUT!!! I also get texts on my phone from a car dealership saying “Donna, it’s time for your oil change. Please contact us to make an appointment” Now, I have pulld my credit report out of fear that someone named donna might be using my info somehow and that’s why they had my work and cell phone numbers listed somewhere? idk. I have no explanation for it. It does seem to happen on days when Im missing her more but I miss her everyday so that’s hard to say. I just think it’s a weird thing that I get these random calls and texts on two different numbers of mine and they all referene “Donna”. It’s just like a subtle reminder and I can’t help but hope it’s somehow her giving me a little sign that she’s around me sometimes.
The second one is purely creepy… You all should know that my house is clearly haunted but it’s not ever very scary. things can sometimes startle us but no one in my family feels threatened or scared ever. It’s the strangest thing. Anyway….
My son and I were watching TV in the living room area. We can see into my bedroom (which is where lots of things happen) from that area. There was a lamp on in my bedroom so it wasn’t dark or anything. I sometimes see things out of the corner of my eye and then turn to look and there’s nothing. This time though, I seen what I thought was someone walking in my bedroom on the far side of the room. I seen it out of the corner of my eye and turned quickly to see what it was. I also heard the top drawer of my short dresser close all the way. Kind of like if it had been open just a bit and someone pushed it completely closed. What was weird about this time though is that my son seen and heard the same thing I did. When I looked back at him I completely expected him to be just watching TV. Instead he was wide eyed and asked me “mom did you just see someone walking in there and did you hear that?!”. It was just really odd to have it confirmed that I wasn’t just seeing something out of the corner of my eye. What are the odds that we both seen the same thing out of the corner of our eyes and also heard the same noise at the exact same moment? just weird. We just both kind of shrugged out shoulders and kept watching TV…

I have a heebie-jeebies inducing story that actually has to do with FI.
I’m adopted–my biological mother passed away just after I was born, and I was adopted by her sister, so my aunt. When my bio mom died she asked a friend to scatter her ashes. When I was younger I did ask where her ashes were scattered, and my parents told me “her favourite lake in Canada,” which was all the information I wanted at that time.
Anyway, cut to when FI and I started dating, and my mom asks me what his name is. I tell her his first name is M——–, and she asks me what his last name is. I tell her Lake. She and my dad both go pale as sheets, because his full name spells out the exact name of the lake where my mother’s ashes are scattered. I had no idea.
My boss asked me the other day that my married name would be and I told him that story, and now every single person in my building knows it because he got so creeped out, hahahahah.

Also, I still have nightmares about the story here last time about the girl in the unfinished house and the people banging on the walls, and about the person who went camping alone in the woods and found pictures of themself sleeping at night on their camera. Like. Can’t deal.

stardustintheeyes: How…do you sleep in that room?! OMG. I’m at work with people all around me and I’m freaked! Although, I think the story about your grandma is kind of sweet 🙂 I bet it is her finding ways to let you know she’s there.

bbbria: in another of these threads I told the story of how Im almost positive my son’s twin visited me. My son was supposed to be a twin. The twin didn’t survive past 3 months of pregnancy. One night my son (he’s 9 now) wanted to sleep with me so I let him since he rarely asks. well I was laying with my back to him and he had already fallen asleep. I had my eyes closed but was most definitely still awake. I felt what I though twas my son kneeling down by where the foot of the bed was. Kind of by my legs. So I said “matthew lay down” and I heard a very very very faint giggle. So I said it again “matthew lay down!” and then I felt him kind of lightly touch my legs kind of like he was teasing me or playing with me. I was tired though so I said in a very aggravated tone “matthew it’s time for sleep please lay down!” and then I felt it again on my leg. So I sat up and turned read to yell at him for not listening and Matthew was sound asleep in the same spot he had been when I last looked at him. There is no way he could have gotten from the foot of the bed and under the covers again with his eyes closed in the same position in the time it took me to sit up and turn. That took all of maybe 3 seconds. So I just kind of sat there in the dark for a second feeling very confused. And I’m not sure why but there was this moment where I just kind of said to myself “that was matthews twin” I actually felt like I had a visit with him\her. I don’t know why I am so sure it was his twin but even to this very moment I am positive that’s who it was. I just kind of know somehow.
That kind of thing happens very often in my room and really everywherein the house. But it’s never scary It sounds like it would be but it’s truly not.

Creepy Stories Ladies! Bumping in hopes there’s more spooky stories to be shared

When I was little my great grandmother took care of me while my parents were at work. She was super old but still played with me on the floor, took me on walks, walked to get lunch with me, etc. We were super close.
When I was 6, I remember waking up and she was sitting on my bed smiling at me. I told her I loved her and she kissed me on my cheek and left the room.
A few minutes later I ran downstairs and ate breakfast with my parents. I asked them casually where grandma was and if she would play with me.
She had died just hours earlier. My parents still get chills talking about it!

This is 1000% true…
Me and my SO were visiting Victoria, BC and stayed at the Empress hotel…a very elegant, old and rumored as haunted hotel. We were walking to our room to leave out luggage and the halls were very dim, long and old looking (think The Shining) …I was just waiting to see the twin ghost girls haha
So we went out and came back at night and went to sleep. At around 5am the room phone rang and my SO picked it up “Hi this is reception…is everything ok there?” “Uhhh..yea, we were sleeping” “Are you sure? We just received a 911 call from your room” “Ummmmmmmm we’re fine”
We were both like Whhaaaaaaat!?! creepy. Its a swanky hotel, they would never do that as a prank. And the creepy thing is that reception can see what room number a call comes from.
So. Freaking. Weird.

My father passed away when I was 2, so I don’t really remember him.
WhenI was in high school, my mom, grandma and I were at a local pizzeria and bumped into his old partner (he was a local cop). I’d never met him, but my mom knew him well, hadn’t seem him in years. It was bizarre, but he said he “had something for me”. For the life of me, I couldn’t imagine what it’d be. Anyway, we never heard from him, until a few years later…
I had an extremely vivid dream about my father that I remember to this day as if it actually happened yesterday. I woke up shaken and had him on my mind all day and the dream. When I got home from school, there was a large, framed thing with my dad’s badges in it. I asked my grandma where it came from and she said, “It was the weirdest thing. Remember when we bumped into Pete Collins at Tony’s Pizza 3 years ago and he said he had something for you? Well he dropped by the house unannounced this morning and dropped it off. He said he had a dream about your dad last night and it triggered his mind to bring this over.” I fell to pieces when I heard this and told her about my dream, too.
A few days later, I randomly found a video tape marked up with “Kathleen’s Christening, 1985” in handwriting I didn’t recognize. I popped it in the VCR and it was a home video of my dad visiting his sister down south b/c he was my cousin’s Godfather. He looked into the camera and said, “Hi, burlapnlace! Daddy loves you!” It was the first time I ever heard his voice (that I can remember).
I still get chills thinking about it <3
