Did the poster ever put up that picture that was supposedly taken of themselves sleeping? I can’t find the old thread anymore. That stuff is so creepy lol. I’ve been reading that thread on the survivalist forums for like 2 days now – and I’m never going camping again! haha

This was more strange than scary, but I post it anyway.

I grew up being very close to my paternal grandparents, spending all my holidays with them as a child and always missing them when I wasn’t there. Second year in university, my grandpa passed away. It was incredible sad, but I had dreamed of him passing for months before it happened so I at least felt a little prepared when it did happen. Two weeks later, it was time for the funeral and I flew up north to where my grandma lives. Now, my entire life I’ve always just referred to her as “grandma”, NEVER used her full name. So I walk into her house after my parents had picked me up on the airport, and I walk towards her to give her a hug as I always do. All of a sudden I sort of “disconnect”. All I remember is thinking “ASTRID!!!” (her full name) and I walk over to kiss her straight on the mouth, just that I last second snapped back and managed to kiss her on the cheek instead. I’ve thought about that moment many times afterwards, and it really feels like my grandpa took over for a brief second – getting one last moment with her.

Also, my grandma has always been afraid of thunder. So a few times after the funeral I would dream that my grandpa would call me on the phone saying that grandma was scared as there was a storm and could I call her and check in. Every single time I called grandma told me they had a thunderstorm.

When my little brother was 3 he would always talk about his friend, Charlie Ghost. My mom thought it was odd, but ignored it because of imaginary friends and all.

The first occurance was during a thunderstorm, where he awoke my mom in th emiddle of the night crying. When she went into his room to comfort him, he had already stopped crying. She asked him what was wrong and he said, “I was scared, but Charlie told me it would be ok.” Creeepy… but ok…

A few other times she would be holding him, and when she took a step back he would say things like, “Mom watch out, Charlie is behind you!” Ughh…

It wasn’t until my parents were renovating their livingroom that they decided to look at the original blue prints of the house. Turns out the man who built and lived in our house first was named Charles. Coincidence? Maybe.

Oh – and another creepy story that the bees were fascinated with in the past was this mysterious picture we found after we returned from vacation.

I was 5 when we first we to Disney World. It was just me, my mom and my dad back then. We stayed in a hotel room with an adjoining door, but it was always locked.

When we got back from vacation and developed our pictures, we discovered someone had come into our room and taken a picture of all 3 of us asleep. So there’s a picture of me, my mom, and my dad sleeping in bed, and I’m holding a stuffed Mickey Mouse. It was clearly taken in our hotel room. My mom freaked out when she saw the picture!

UGH as soon as I posted that a creaking noise came from my hallway which never ever creaks.

This little story isnt creepy per say – just weird. I went and saw a pshycic medium about a month ago and during my reading she told me that I would be getting pregnant, and soon. few weeks later, I find out im pregnant. just weird!

Westwood:  I have heard that same story 20 different times. I think it is just an urban legend people like to adopt as their own a lot.

I’m going to have to read through all of these! I didn’t have the courage to do it last night before bed!

I did think of one weird, cool thing that happened to me once. I was dreaming about being with my friend in a car. I forget if she was angry or I was, but I decided to blast the music. It was Dirty Deeds by ACDC playing and I turned it up REALLY loud. We ended up driving off a cliff and I woke up with a start. It was about 2 am or so. I went back to sleep and when my alarm went off in the morning, it was Dirty Deeds playing on the radio!! What are the chances??

Oh I do remember another story. I woke up in the middle of the night one night and I could have sworn I saw my mom standing in my room wearing a long white T-shirt. She turned around and walked out. I thought maybe she had come in to check on me so I turned over to go back to sleep. But I was worried that maybe she had been sleep walking (She never had before, but it was my thought). So I went upstairs to check on her and she was in her bed asleep. In the morning I told her what happened. I said it was weird because she was wearing different PJs though.

I was probably dreaming. But it felt SO real.

I’m not sure if this is a scary story but it definetly freaked my mom out about 20 or so years ago. When I was little (I was the oldest) I had an imaginary friend. My sister was born but she was only a baby, so I guess it was natural that I have an imaginary friend. His name was “the man” and I spoke outloud to him all the time. I also blamed things on him. Sometimes, listening to me talk to the man was freaky – it sounded like you could hear one side of the conversation as if you were listening to someone talk on the phone. It also creeped out other family members who visited and watched me talk to the man. So, it was my father’s birthday and he was on the road, expected to get back really late. Mom let me stay up later than usualy because when Dad got home I wanted to cut his cake with him before I went to sleep. I was in my room in my bed (with the lights off); my Mom came in and told me to go to sleep because Dad was going to be longer than expected. Apparently, I looked at Mom, but past her as if I was looking at something behind her. Mom said, “What are you looking at?” and I replied, “The man”. My Mom got such a fright she called my grandmother immediatley when she left my room. The next day Mom told me I had to tell the man to go away and not come back, he wasn’t allowed to play with me anymore. I did so. After that, there was no talk of the man. I often wonder, was it an imaginary friend? I do not remember any of this so I wouldn’t know. Children are more susceptible to ‘external forces’.

I always love these threads too but never post!  I have a lot of stories between me and my family, but I’ll share two that happened to me.

When I was a senior in high school my mom and I took a trip up to Duluth, MN for a girls weekend.  We were sight seeing and decided to visit the old train depot (now a museum basically).  The building itself is a little creepy and the bathrooms are in the basement.  We were down there and we walked in and I started to go towards a stall, opened the door, and saw a girl standing there (maybe about 13?) in old clothing, like something you would expect people wore during the pioneer type days on the prairie.  She had long brown, wavy hair and was facing the door and just standing there.  This is going to sound weird, but I saw it but didn’t fully register it at first if that makes sense?  I kept walking and sat on the toilet, it didn’t freak me out because I didn’t fully register it.  Once I got out of the stall I finally registered what I saw and then was a little freaked out!

We also used to live in a really old house when I was in high school that I guess was a farm before the city build around it.  My bedroom faced the front of the house and on one of the walls I had my closet, and next to my closet was a corner where the ceiling angled down (you get that in a lot of old farm homes).  Well, my bed was kitty corner that sloping corner and was against the window, but my head was situated so that I would be facing the wall with the closet and sloping corner.

One night I was laying in bed with my back towards the door and the corner, facing the window and was half asleep.  Everyone else had gone to bed (I used to stay up really late) and it was really quiet.  All of a sudden I hear my phone (land line with the type that had the little knob on the phone that goes up and down to hang up, super hard to describe – sorry) start clicking over and over again as if someone is hanging the phone up by the knobby thing.  I was annoyed but not scared at that point, and kept my back to the room trying to sleep.  Then a few minutes later I get this horrible pit in my stomach and the feeling that someone is watching me from that angled corner of the room.  I don’t know how I can explain this, but I could FEEL the person watching me and get a sense of what they looked like, and it was a little boy about 6ish wearing a brown coat and brown shorts, with a brown news boy type hat (similar to early 1900’s era clothing).  I was so scared that I literally could not move.  I just kept my eyes closed refusing to turn around or move and eventually fell asleep.

I told my mom about it the next day and she got really quiet and told me that the house used to be a farm and the farmer’s little boy had died in the 1920’s because his dad accidentally ran over him with his tractor.  I switched rooms after that!

Whoa, some of those stories about being watched and feeling that deep down danger instinct from the survivalistboards link really struck a chord with me!  I’ve had that experience and chalked it up to me being silly, but maybe there’s something to it?

My fiance’s family has a lake house- it sits right on the lake on a triple lot, set back from the road, no driveway, not exactly wooded but pretty thick tree coverage.  It’s in the country, so it’s very dark out there.  When we drive in for a weekend, we’re coming from about 5 hours away so it’s usually pretty late when we arrive and unload the car.  If we’re the first/only ones there, it is pitch black.

One time we arrived late on a Friday night- it was only going to be the two of us so we pulled up to a dark, locked up house.  We turned off the car and my fiance went ahead to unlock the house and get things turned on inside, but he forgot to turn on the porch light.  As I’m standing at the car starting to unload our things, the timer on the headlights expires, leaving me in absolute blackness.

I’ve been there a million times and feel very safe there, but suddenly as I turned away from the car I was struck with the most intense terror and panic I’ve ever felt.  It washed over me in a second- all of the blood drained from my face, I couldn’t breathe, I damn near lost my bladder.  I don’t even know how to describe it but I could feel something in the darkness rushing towards me.  I dropped everything in my arms and ran for the front door, literally whimpering.  I’ve never made sounds like that in my life.  I have no idea what spurred such blind panic, nothing strange happened that night, but in that instant every fiber of my being told me to ruuuunnn.

ugh, i love and hate these at the same time because reading them is so fun and then i can’t sleep at night!

so i have a few.

my childhood best friend lived down the street from me and her house was haunted. her mom claims she played with a homemade ouija board when she was a teenager and opened a door to the other side she could never close, and whatever “it” was, followed her. she would have random noises, kitchen chairs move, things fall off shelves, etc. all the time. i kinda knew about this but was naive, i was around 10/11.

so one night i was sleeping over her house on the living room floor, in between an empty couch and my friend, on another couch. come to think of it why the hell was i on the floor if there was an empty couch? anyway…

i woke up in the middle of the night for no reason, and when i opened my eyes saw an older man sleeping on the couch above me, looking at me. i immediately shut my eyes and put the blanket over my head and was like holy f-bomb, what is that. i opened them and the guy was gone. i thought maybe her dad had come into the living room and slept on the couch. which woulda been weird too… anyway in the morning i asked her dad if he slept on the couch and he laughed and was like no. sooo then who was sleeping on the couch? well, apparently an old man lived in the house before my friends’ family moved in and died there. they’ve seen his ghost in the front yard looking at the house. i didnt sleep over that much anymore, and she moved across the country a few years later.

story #2:

my cousins built a house on old farmland where two children had previously died – one from sickness, one got hit in the head by a mule or something back in the 1940s. i have 7&9 year old cousins who used to “play” with young ghost kids at the house all the time when they were smaller. so my cousin tells me that one day his friend called him and was going to stop by the house to hang out. my cousin says he’s at work and will be home soon, but that no one is home and to just go in through the garage and hang out until he gets there. my cousin gets home 20 mins or so later and the garage is open, a beer can is on the table, there’s music playing.. but no friend. so he calls the guy and is like hey where did u go. well apprently, when the friend got there, he started hearing music coming from the house and laughter. said the play room above the garage sounded like there was a circus going on inside. but there was no one home. HOLY SHT. scared him so badly, he ran out of the house.

a few months later, my cousin is having a bonfire at his house and a friend’s friend, who had never been over before, took a pic of the fire on his cell phone because it was getting big, looked cool, etc. he goes to look at the pic later and notices 3 FACES in the fire. one was really big, one was smaller, both had open mouths and looked demonic or something, like it was someone screaming. i know, because my cousin brought out the pics and showed us at a family dinner. i almost pooped my pants.

a lot goes on in their house, but as adorable as my younger cousins are, i’ve made them completely aware that i will never ever babysit alone at night. they don’t want to have the house cleansed or blessed (my catholic ass would be bringing holy water and a rosary everywhere i went around there) because they dont want to disturb the spirits, who have left them alone for the most part. they also get weird sulfur imprints on the carpets next to my little cousins bed – they’re thinking the ghosts watch her while they sleep.

ok i have the chills just from typing this! ahhh!
