One of the reason I hate trying new restaurants is the service.  All I really care about is decent food and decent service.  I will never return to a restaurant where the service is bad.  The thing is, I am actually very laid back.  But when I have a bad experience, it just isn’t worth it to return because going out to eat is so expensive anyway.

So, I basically go to places where I like the service.  But YES, I have had bad experiences.

It might be a regional thing, but I felt like I always got better service in rural/further out in the ‘burbs.

service has gone down so much in recent years, it’s really appalling. i’m really laid back as well, but bad service pisses FH off a lot, and it’s something I pay more attention to now.

As a former waitress, and someone who has worked in some form of customer service since I was 15, poor service irritates me more than anything.

I get that sometimes a person is just having a bad day. I have them too, but, you can tell when someone actually gives a sh** or not. I still get great service most of the time, and we eat out a lot. But now, when I don’t, if it’s especially bad I’ll complain. I don’t care if my food is wrong. I don’t care if I have to wait a little bit longer than normal. If I’m in a store I don’t care if they don’t have my size in something. I don’t want someone up my butt the whole time. All I want is to be treated decently. I am a nice person to have as a customer. I have been there. I have dealt with the Cranky Crankersons of the world too. I am on your side. So when you act like a jackass I don’t appreciate it, and I will be a jackass right back.
