Black or Charcoal gray. Where I live, lighter colors of shingles get big streaks of mildew after a while. It looks gross.

I second the charcoal grey.  But I live in a climate that has all 4 seasons and lighter roofs tend to look gross after a while.

loudsilence99 :  Do you have the option of 3D shingles? We replaced the roof on our last house with 3d shingles and were really happy with it. It was also no extra cost with the contractor we used. The one we chose was similar to the Oxford Gray on this chart (maybe a little darker). It looks really nice with our light gray siding.

loudsilence99 :  That’s weird that he is so picky about it! I’ve never heard of a roofer being so adamant before. Honestly though, for a grey house, I can’t imagine any other color working, except a shade of grey that’s darker (or a really really really dark green). Dark siding and pale roof just looks really weird to me!

Pale is just unusual in the US, but I have seen more houses refoofed in pale color around my area, so I think they are catching up. You also need to figure out whether you want that gray as your paint, or will you change it in several years. Roof is 20 year color, so probably makes more sense to think of a more longer term plan (and pick the one you like) than trying to match it with current color. I kinda like the dual grey or the oxford gray that futuremrss17 posted, and the last pic you posted is good as well.

Out of the samples your roofer provided I like the charcoal gray or driftwood the best.

And I agree with taking out the current landscaping and making it more manageable and cohesive. Like the white trim and the red door too

our own roof I think is charcoal which suites a number of siding colors (our vinyl siding is tan-which I don’t care for but can live with for now lol) so it works but since your siding is so neutral you’d probably be able to get away with anything in theory lol
