I had sloppy joes just hours after having my wisdom teeth removed, I was in no pain and felt great. I never had to go on a soft food diet for it. I was lucky.

My FH just had a good portion of his top teeth removed and trust me, it was a challenge to figure out what to feed him besides soup. We tried everything soups, anything and everything mashed bananas, potatoes, sweet potatoes, Ensure and other diet drinks for their vitamins and protein, stuffing smothered in gravy, biscuits and gravy as long as the beef was really finally crumbled. the day he finally could eat breadsticks from our local pizza parlor was the best day ever. It mean I could finally start cooking us real food.

I only ate jello.  Everyone is different, I knew someone who went to Dairy Queen that night!  But my surgery was intense, the teeth had not emerged and there were 5!

I have a crazy high threshold for pain, so I was eating chicken noodle soup and mac+cheese the whole time! My stitches didn’t dissolve after two weeks… After a week and a half, they pulled out (I was eating bread, and I felt the string pull loose! It was AWFUL)

When I got sick of the sweet stuff I ended up eating plain hummus with a spoon- sounds gross but is surprisingly good after jello and ice cream all day!

I ate pretty much what you ate, but they broke part of my jaw…so it took a bit longer before I could eat anything else. I feel your pain!

I ate a full Thanksgiving type dinner 2 days after I have all four of my wisdow teeth out.  I guess I am the exception.  When I had jaw surgery, I put whatever I wanted to eat in the blender.

I would NOT recommend rice. I ate heaps of rice because it was soft and easy to swallow. Unfortunately the little grains of rice would get stuck in the sockets and I had to get this suction thingy to get them out. It was revolting.

I was on soft foods for a while, but I had all four out at once and the surgery was a bit complicated so I was in pain for 5-6 days.

At first I was so nauseous from the pain meds that all I could eat was plain white rice. It was easy and settled my stomach. After that I ate a lot of oatmeal.

Melted ice cream was about the only thing I could manage for a couple of days…wisdom teeth suck!

I had all 4 out at once too. The pain really wasn’t that bad, what got me was the thought that I  had open sockets in my mouth. I drank milk and ate yogurt and jello, that was about it for 6 days.
