We are both pretty thrifty (our big weakness is international travel) but I spend a lot on clothes. I’ve gotten to the point now where I buy high quality clothes, but fewer of them. So, it’s under control (no impulse buys at Old Navy that fall apart after 3 washes!), but he still doesn’t understand why pants cost $85 or a cashmere sweater $150 – but they last soooo long compared to the cheap stuff! It’s actually cheaper in the long run.

Other than that, we aren’t big on shopping – we have a really small house so we wouldn’t have anywhere to put stuff! We don’t upgrade electronics for the sake of upgrading – they have to stop working or we have to have a specific need for them.

Nothing, it’s me who thinks he wastes money sometimes. He likes his boy toys & he loves overly expensive food.

My Darling Husband is always encouraging me to spend more, because I can be a tightwad. But I have a pretty large nail polish collection that he doesn’t really understand. He thinks I have enough of them!

I think he spends too much money on hunting. Between club fees, land rental fees, guns, ammo, aeros, clothing, licenses…that shiz is expensive. But if it keeps him happy and we can pay our bills without constantly worrying, it doesn’t bother me.

Before we moved intogether and started joining our finances, I spent too much on clothes and shoes and Darling Husband spent to much on computer and camera stuff.

We are very frugal now, as we are saving for a house and don’t spend much on anything but the necessities.  I still think we send too much on the truck, but Darling Husband seems to be able to justify most of it…

You would think DH’s gripe would be my $200-$300 salon bill every 2.5 months but surprisingly he’s totally fine with that. I know it’s high and I hate spending that much, but I’m not ready to transition to a single process yet which would really age me. DH’s main gripe with me is my little unplanned purchases – a throw pillow here, a new pair of jeans there that make us go over budget, or at least the budget he’s set out.

I personally HATE recurring automatic monthly charges because I think they’re a HUGE ripoff and Darling Husband had a membership to LA Fitness that he didn’t want to cancel because it was only $15/month. But he hadn’t been in over 5 years! AND he got a new gym membership to a different gym. So I made him cancel it. Also, the netflix that we never used, it was a nice idea but it bothered me that we were automatically charged for it when we weren’t even using it. I seriously think Netflix should charge as you go instead of a monthly preset amount. Because if you go a whole month without getting new DVD’s you should pay $0!

Fiance spends way too much money on video games.  He buys a new one every time we go to the video game store and always seems to have his eye on a new one.

Before I went back to school I’m pretty sure he thought that I spent too much money on clothes and shoes.  Now that I’m back in college he always says he wishes he could save like me.  I guess he forgot my days of constant clothes shopping:)

Well, I have SOME. *blushes*

I collect trollbeads and pandora (bead style bracelets), I love thomas sabo as well.. jewelry, but to be honest most of my jewelry is beads from trollbeads, I only started to really focus on jewelry end of last year, and I overdid myself, spent soome thousands already. as they have different prices and i can buy by pieces, i dont feel nearly as much as if i bought a 500 bracelet at once, but some of mine trollbeads bracelets are well over that when finished.

I also love books, and read really fast, say a 500 pages book in one or two days. yeah… havent bought that many this year, but i can defnitely spend entire days in book stores, just choosing the perfect books.

I am also collecting some vinylmation (disney designer toys) and usually buy complete cases, that go for around 300 euros each. i have 5 complete cases. keep in mind i started to collect in april only… but i only want 10 or 12 whole collections, they already have a destination and will double as a collection and wall art! 😀

I have the collectors gene, I swear I cant control it. :p

Shoes bags and clothes… i havent spent so much on that recently, but whenever i visit my mother she gives me shoes so i almost dont need to buy it on my own. she is a shoe addict (see what i ean about the collectors gene?) and has a closet JUST for her shoes, neatly organized in shelves from floor to ceiling, plus some more in boxes, she has well over 150 pairs! i have only 30 or so, including flip flops and boots. we used to have the same shoe size when i was younger, so I would just choose from hers when I wanted something else, it was amazing! but i became one size bigger than her. boo. 🙁

As for handbags, I dont have any designer handbags, but plan to have a couple someday. so far i really would say jewelry is what I am spending the most with. I also spend a resonable ammount on house decor, but Im really picky about what I want, and it takes time to find something that matches my mental image. I am a shopaholic and high maintenance I suppose, when I write it all down. makes me kind of ashamed, but as this is a forum and no one here knows me in real life, i dont feel so bad to share.

For my husband, his one thing is eletronical gadgets, needs to have everything apple! and also some music devices (he is into elektro music and makes his own, so he is always looking for gadgets to produce different sound, make your voice sound different and whatnot).

We both like to travel, we just dont do it it nearly as much as we wish, due to his limited vacation times, but this year we went to Paris Cologne (3 times) and Amsterdam, I went to Paris once more with a friend and next month will go to London and end of the year to Brazil. I hope me and my husband can squeeze some time to go to Paris (we LOVE it there) once again this year, we will also go to the oktoberfest. so a good year travelling-wise

Life is too short, I think we should enjoy it as much as possible while we can

He wouldn’t complain about my spending because he doesn’t know what I spend money on ^__^ but myself I’d say food (dunkin donuts, McDonald’s treats, lunches and dinners out). For him, computer stuff. (Though he stopped that recently to start saving for my e-ring).

This is funny to me.

We don’t mention what each other spends money on.

He buys anything he wants to, large purchases we discuss.

I buy anything I want to, large purchases we discuss.
