Not counting joint purchases (how can one of us complain about the other spending too much on food that we’re both going to eat, lol), he’d probably say I spend the most on books, and I’d say he spends the most on video games.

In general, though, he doesn’t think I spend too much on anything. I usually hold off on buying things I want (jobless grad student here) and he’s always trying to get me to buy them anyway. Total enabler Tongue Out

Me: I spend too much on stuff for my dogs. I have a collar addiction and I order a new custom collar every few months. I also buy a lot of nail polish.

Him: He’s obsessed with knifes, guns, basically any sort of weapon. There were a few months where he was buying a new knife (or 3) every pay check.

We’ve both slowed down though, since we’re trying to save money for a house.

Before I opened this post my immediate thought was “Starbucks” and I’m happy to see I’m not the only one! I don’t spend a ton of money otherwise to the point that he’ll say things like “buy it” when I tell him I saw an Hermes Day Planner for like $1200 AS IF I WOULD EVER. I think it’s like a trick tactic though because of course I never buy any of the stuff as soon as he tells me I should.

He buys stupidly expensive shoes. But he wears them every day for work and takes good care of them so I don’t complain and am happy that he treats himself. But something what does annoy me is how generous he is with putting his card down when we go out. He used to do it so often that sometimes people would tell strangers to put their drinks on his tab! I am notttt okay with that. Treat your friends, sure.. SOMETIMES. We have plenty of expenses, no need to pick up tabs ALL THE TIME.

We’re both pretty good with money – him moreso than me though! But I think he gets a little confused when I buy books, DVDs or music (why would you buy new books when you can get them for free from the library?!).
On the other hand, I get a little confused by him wanting to spend heaps of money on a wedding. For a guy that’s usually very frugal, he’s talking about $20-25000 on one day! Me, on the other hand, would rather a super cheap event.

Not much really. In fact, because of him, I have opted to buy the things I’ve always wanted, but denied myself as a luxury I didn’t need.

Since being with him I splurged on a white sapphire tennis bracelet, a new computer, a beautiful leather coat, a few  etsy purses,  and soon a purse set (purse, wallet, ID holder and keychains from Coach).

And my fave purchase currently, my ukulele and a small designer bag by Lux DeVille.
