I’m leaving for Davis, CA for a graduate school interview Sunday! I know that cold in the South isn’t always the same as cold in other areas. So, Northern Cali hive members, what should I do for outerwear? Do I need a heavy coat, light jacket, just a sweater, or none of the above? Help! 🙂

Well I’m in Central Cali but It looks like it’s supposed to be low 50’s all weekend. I’d say you probably need a jacket but not a super heavy duty coat. I’d probably wear a sweater and have a jacket too so that you can layer if needed. Good luck!

I live in the Bay Area, which is about an hour or so from Davis. It is supposed to be really cold on Saturday! Sunday it is supposed to get warmer – I would say like 40s or 50s and it should be like that all next week.

This week has been ridiculously cold (I read that we might even get snow in SF tomorrow night!). Davis is inland, so I’d say the daytime temperature will be warmer than SF and colder in the evening. Bring layers! Medium weight coat should be okay for day and night as long as you have layers of sweaters/tanks/etc underneath.

I also live about an hour from Davis and it’s been pretty cold lately. Today the sun was out in the morning, but COLD. (like high 30’s, 40’s). Warmed up and then got gray. It’s supposed to be pretty cold this weekend (40’s,50’s). some rain. Good luck!

@Elle_Neotoma: I wasn’t too cold. 🙂 Just brought a light jacket and stayed inside most of the time. The interview went great and I LOVED Davis. Now, I’m just waiting to hear back. I hope I get in!
Thanks again, everyone.
