KatiePi:  I LOVE scary movies, but there are some I refuse to see. Any type of movie that shows torture, such as the Saw movies, and more recently, the Purge. I can’t bring myself to watch it. Freaks me out too much.

KatiePi:

the exorcism was at SLU and the wing of the hospital was boarded up and they eventually knocked it down. My aunt used to work at SLU and said going near where it used to be was really creepy. The house is still standing though and I’m pretty sure you can go there for tours. If I remember correctly, somebody actually lives there. Don’t quote me on that.

A few years ago a radio station did their Halloween special there. 3 contestants had to stay inside the house by themselves for a certain amount of time. I nearly peed myself just listening to the broadcast.

Im a weeny, and Signs scares the crap out if me, along with Insideous, that part with the baby monitor.. OH HELL NO!!! Anything dealing with ghosts or demons I just can’t do it.

I can usually handle most scary movies (husband rents them all the time) but the ones that creep me out a little is Children of the Corn.  I think it’s the child factor.

I second Children of the Corn.  Haven’t watched it since the first time maybe 20 years ago, so I’m not sure if it would be as scary now.  Most movies don’t scare me anymore but I still love scary movies!

And I live in St. Louis.  House is there, someone lives there, but no tours that I’m aware of.  Kid who was “exercised” was all over the place in StL, several places including a Catholic retreat (down the street from my dad’s house), Alexian Brothers Hospital (original building no longer there.)  I’m not doubting he was at SLU, but I don’ t remember that part of the story, myself.  If you ever get a chance to read the journal of the priest who dealt with all of this, it really is fascinating!

KatiePi:  Yeah, I agree with the innocence theory of children.

@KatiePi:  Here is a link to the news story with link to journal.  PS. After re-reading, it did have ties to SLU.  My bad!

I am terrified of zombies so I have a list of movies that really freak me out.

Resident Evil, 28 Days Later, Dawn of the Dead

Also I do not like Nightmare on Elm Street.

The Exorcism of Emily Rose. I actually really love horror movies of all kinds but the religious ones seem to be the only ones that scare me. I was genuinely scared after this one.
