We love The Shield right now–super-amazing cop show that is also free on Amazon Instant. And you should trust my taste in TV, because I also am a total X-Files nut. 🙂

You may have seen some of these, but here are some other faves: Sherlock (the BBC show), Buffy (you have to watch, like, 2.5 seasons for it to really get good, but if you stick it out, it’s one of the best shows on TV), Battlestar, Game of Thrones, The Sopranos, 24 (totally underrated, IMO), House of Cards.

You could always just watch some really good eps from the Mulder and Scully seasons. I like X-Cops and the Bermuda Triangle one!

House of Cards with Kevin Spacey… BRILLIANT! Robin Wright, who plays his wife, won a Golden Globe for her portrayal. It’s a NetFlix produced series and the complete season 2 will be downloaded on February 14…CANNOT wait! The British series (same name) on which it is based is so good, too!

The West Wing. I think I’m a little obsessed with Washington political dramas. It’s very good and I’m still curious as to why I didn’t watch it when it originally aired.

Downton Abbey is wonderful as are Call the Midwife, The Tudors, The Bletchley Circle and Luther… I LOVE British dramas!

@peachacid:  From Wiki… “The plot follows newly qualified midwife Jenny Lee and the work of midwives and the nuns of Nonnatus House, a nursing convent, part of an Anglican religious order, coping with the medical problems in the deprived Poplar district of London’s desperately poor East End in the 1950s. The Sisters and midwives carry out many nursing duties across the community. However, with between 80 and 100 babies being born each month in Poplar alone, the primary work is to help bring safe childbirth to women in the area and to look after their countless newborns.”

I hope you enjoy it.

I’m in a random movie mood, so I’m going to swap genres throughout the night. I’m starting with Father of the Bride II (freakin love it). I have The Birdcage loaded on my computer after that. Then I’m thinking a thriller, but don’t know what yet. I’m debating about a How I Met Your Mother Marathon or a Sex and the City marathon for later/tomorrow. My sister also just said I need to start watching Parenthood. Sorry…that’s a mess of different stuff, but sometimes it’s hard to stick with one thing.
