    I use an alarm clock…it forces me to actually get out of bed to turn it off

    Well, I work night shift so I don’t need to be up at a particular time.  I am up when my body is ready.

    I wake up when Fiance starts shoving me out of bed after I’ve hit snooze on both my cell phone and regular alarm clock for an hour.

    Mostly my alarm on my cell phone wakes me up.  Sometimes my neighbors or apartment management are obnxious (like this morning) and I get woken up by them.  My neighbors below me scream a lot (during sex, fights, tantrums, on the phone, when one is outside the other is inside, when they have guests, etc).  And my management company does weird stuff like maintenance really early. On super rare ocassions my Fiance wakes me when he’s getting ready for class/work (he gets up super early and we sleep in separate rooms).

    And if I’m woken before I want to physically be awake, I’m exhausted all day but such is life.  I don’t consume much, if any, caffeine.  Showering and drinking water are the best ways for me to feel refreshed enough to get to work/class.

    EDIT: On days when I accidentally sleep in, one of my cats (Firefox) will stick her paw under my bedroom door and shake it violently, then she’ll stand outside the door and cry/meow pitifully b/c she loves company from humans.

    EDIT #2: If there’s something very serious I need to wake up for I’ll set two alarms (one on a reg. clock and then my cell) but that’s rare.

    Either my phone alarm or I wake up naturally…either way I’m not really “awake” until my 2nd cup of coffee…

    @KatyElle:  haha

    I use a combo of alarm clock + cell phone alarm — I’m always anxious I’ll oversleep.

    @mrs_pugetsound:  My neighbors are the same.  I hate it.  Luckily my fan usually drowns out most of the sound unless kids are over and wrestling.  It’s very hard for me NOT to be obnoxious.

    My kids most of the time.  If not them, the alarm clock.

    I use the alarm on my cell phone, and I never, ever hit snooze. I’m a snooze button addict. If I let my self snooze even once it takes me months to break the habit of hitting the snooze button over an over and not getting up on time.

    @mrs_pugetsound:  Yeah, it’s difficult.  At first I thought it was a Domestic Violence situation until I realized that she is completely irrational and is a screamer.  She yells louder than her male SO.  I don’t know them well and when I mentioned it to the managment (when I thought it was a DV situation), they told me to report all noise issues to the police. I’ll be moving out in a few months, until then, I laugh.
