I prefer Chrome over Firefox simply because Firefox takes up 5 “rows” at the top of the page (Title bar, File/edit/etc bar, tabs bar, url bar, and bookmarks bar), yet Chrome only takes up 3 (tabs, url, bookmarks). It allows more of the screen to be dedicated to the actual webpages.
I’ll only use IE if whatever page I’m trying to view just won’t work in Chrome/Firefox.

@Kimberley25: Safari is awesome if you have a Mac. Otherwise, I have used Firefox, Explorer 8, and Chrome but I much prefer Chrome. However, some of the sites I use on a regular basis are not compatible with Chrome so I still have IE7 which I use for those sites.

I am in love with Chrome! Every once in a while i’ll come up with a bit of a problem in Chrome with WB, but for the most part it’s all i’ll use!

I use Chrome most of the time. Sometimes Explorer b/c it’s on my computer. I got a new Windows 8 computer and I like how Explorer ‘looks’ when using it, but I recently started using Chrome again in desktop mode, so I could download stuff it wouldn’t let me do in 8 mode.
I used to use Firefox b/c everyone said I should, but it didn’t feel better to me than anything else. Fiance uses Firefox and was really annoyed when he found out I didn’t. But he also has a Mac and an iPad, so he acts like an idiot whenver he needs to use mine.

@Kimberley25: I have a Mac (which I adore). So, of course I use Safari. It works. It’s an internet provider. I’ve never had issues and it’s super easy to manange.
I honestly never knew there were many differences between providers. lol

I’m glad to see not too many people using IE. I program websites for a living (big ol’ nerd right here) and hours can be wasted trying to get a consistent look across all of the good browsers – ff, chrome and safari, and terrible, terrible ie. Luckily we are past supporting ie7, but we still have test for ie8 as well as 9. The least people could do is update their crappy internet explorer, but no, due to a large enough percentage of luddites, people who are overly paranoid about computers, and government departments, we’re stuck supporting legacy versions with known issues while the technology available on the front end of the web rushes forward at a rapid pace, offering tons of awesome new features and solutions that are effectively useless until all current popular versions of browsers support them.
/end developer rant.

@Kimberley25: Depends on your system. At home I use Chrome, but my computer at work plays nicer with firefox. No reason not to test them out, they’re free! As far as resource usage and safety and speed, they both have their pros and cons. Chrome starts clean, but has this tendency to build on its memory consumption as it stays open longer, and on older, slower machines I’ve experienced a lot of page-death and startup problems I didn’t have with Firefox (hence using Firefox on my crappy work computer.)
But Chrome handles its screen real-estate better, I find the UI more attractive and intuitive, I like the performance more overall (some plugins perform better, I get better speed, more responsiveness, internal PDF reading, other stuff) so I use it happily on my home computer.
Either way, Internet Explorer is never the answer.
(Unless the question is “what awful frankenbrowser should no one ever use?”)

@Kimberley25: I use Firefox. I have tried out Chrome and I’m just NOT a fan of it. I guess after using FF for 8ish years it’s hard to break the habit?
