i just saw it last week and i really enjoyed it.  there were some really funny parts.  yes, there was a lot of swearing, sex and drugs but it was just part of the movie.  we actually took my dad and stepmom to see it and they both really enjoyed it too.  (my dad is 71 btw).

the only thing is it was really long.  they could have easily cut 30 minutes out.

@Billsgirl:  I remember that unfortunately. I had your back b/c I couldn’t believe the conclusions some Bees were jumping to just b/c you said you didn’t like the content of the movie. :/

@BurlapnLace:  Thanks for the heads up. Long Leo movies bore the hell out of me anyway, but now I know not to see it. I wish someone warned me about Bad Grandpa before I saw it this weekend and turned it off as it was so bad.

Didn’t this movie come out months ago?  This just seems like a bit of a dated review/rant

@BurlapnLace:  sorry but the movie was amazing.

Vulgar, yea

lots of sex..yup

drugs…sure

But the you cannot deny the fact that the acting was awesome.

You gotta be a real New Yorker to understand why those characters acted the way they did. Hello? Wall Street!

I really cannot get over how “offended” people are by this. c’mon. get over it.

@MrsNewDay:  🙂 And I thank you for that!!!! Seriously..You’d have thought I was having a pro-life/Abortion debate or something…Jeez.  And then one bee actually was harassing me privately. I wasn’t mean or snarky to anyone and didn’t deserve being “stalked”…hehe..Some people just HAVE to have the last word and I won’t lower myself.

@BurlapnLace:  I agree also. The actors did great with the shitty “script” they were given to work with but I couldn’t focus either way.

i totally disagree.  i loved this movie.  Darling Husband and I saw Wolf of Wall Street and American Hustle pretty close together.  We both agreed that American Hustle had better acting but the loved the Wolf story line much better,

@Billsgirl:  I didn’t see too many people attacking you. I think a couple of people took issue with you saying that watching men having sex with other men made you nauseous because that sounds quite homophobic.

@Daizy914:  +1

One of the best movies I’ve seen in a long time, the acting was incredible. I saw it twice in theatre. My Mom is a stockbroker, so I was familiar with the story before hand. Have you read the reviews? It was nominated for multiple Academy Awards, and has gotten pretty good ratings everywhere, so to tell people not to waste their time is a little silly if you ask me. This is the rating: Rated R for sequences of strong sexual content, graphic nudity, drug use and language throughout, and for some violence. What were you expecting?

I loved it! It was hilarious and raunchy and ridiculous. I would totally see it again. I think the acting was good, although not difficult (I like it better when an actor/ess wins for a role where they had to stretch further, but the movie was good. I enjoyed the story as a rudi loud over the top portrayal of a true story. I can see why people didn’t like the movie due to the raunchiness, but that doesn’t make it a bad movie.

So of the two people who started threads to complain about this movie, neither one even saw the whole thing?
