@cmbr:  I stayed for 2.5 hours. Didn’t think the last 30 mins. would somehow miraculously be any good.

I liked it. Yes, it was excessive with the sex and drugs, but that was part of exactly what was going on during that particular time on Wall Street. Based on a true story! He actually did swallow a goldfish!! It was drugs, sex, and excess! And yes, I thought there was a good plot, character development, wonderful costume design and sets. I felt it was a really well done movie.

I thought it was alright. Then again I knew what I was in for watching it. They could’ve cut it down to 2 – 2.5 hours pretty easily though. At points I was starting to get a bit bored just because it was so long.

@mypinkshoes:  +1 I really liked it too and agree it sould have been cut a little shorter but I heard the original was much much longer….can’t even imagine it being any longer! We actually saw it back over Christmas break when we were visiting DHs parents in Ca.

DHs mom is 72 and his dad is 82…..and YEP they liked it…LOL ….crazy right??? I was afraid of what their reactions were going to be when we walked out but they were laughing and it was actually their idea to see it!!

@weddingbound:  yeah, i was a bit concerned for my father’s reaction but he was laughing all through it.  even talking about it later, he said he didn’t mind the swearing and the drugs at all and commented how he especially liked the sex parts.  lol.  he still thinks he’s 30.

I think the movie was filthy trash and can’t believe anyone would waste their time watching it. If you can’t produce a movie without saying cuss words or having actors pretend to snort cocain out of a prostitutes asshole, then you have ZERO talent as a producer.

How sad that society is becoming more accepting of this garbage. Just because the movie was highly popular etc, doesn’t mean it was ANY good. It means that people are losing a grip on stuff that’s actually worth watching.

@MsJ2theZ:  I loved it too. Went into it not knowing anything about what was to come and laughed for 3 hours. Yeah, it was vulgar, but it was telling the story of his life and how he choose to behave during it. I enjoyed it!

I loved Wolf of Wall Street. I knew going into it there would be tons of swearing, sex, and drugs. Duh. It’s about a guy getting rich telling lies on Wall Street in the late ’80s/early ’90s. Additionally, it was directed by Martin Scorsese.

I thought it was great. Go see it. If you can’t get through the language, gratuitous sex, and recreational drug use to the humor and social commentary, it’s probably not the film for you.
