Right now – all you know is that he’s not home. 99% of the time I’ve worried about someone – they have shown up less than 24 hours later – totally fine. And I spent all that time worrying. I wouldn’t try to force yourself to sleep – that often makes things worse, but watch a movie you love or make yourself a cup of tea. Try doing something enjoyable and totally mindless. You’re right – there’s nothing you can do now and that’s ok. You will figure it out when light first breaks in the morning :). You can always keep posting here – I know writing about it helps.

Well he can’t have gone to far (since you are on the Isle of Man and all). Unless he hopped the ferry of course but not at that time of night!

Is it possible that he had a little too much to drink and fell asleep at a friends/workmates place?

I don’t think his behaviour of not letting you know he wasn’t going to make it home was very nice.

Have you also tried the hospital? Just in case.

@Nellop:  When I was much younger, I used to work in a restaurant myself, and the culture is definitely social. It might be that there was an impromptu party thrown, and he went with the intention of being personable, but got in too deep, and is sleeping it off. Is he a social kind of guy?

No excuse not to call you though!

We’d definitely be having a chat when he got home if my husband did that.  Unless your privacy laws are much different than ours, I’d say if you’ve contacted the policetame they didn’t say he’s fine he’s not in jail. Hope he turns up soon!

@Nellop:  At least it seems he is safe. Meanwhile, I hope your couch is comfortable.

Can you take a sleeping pill and just knock yourself out for a few hours? Try to do anything to keep yourself from worrying too much! Maybe a few glasses of wine?

I hope he’s okay, and chances are he’s just fine. Keep us updated!
