Yep, as if the title wasn’t scary enough..let me break this down for you
I work in an office with 10 women shoved into one room, one that has one exit and no windows.
There is no privacy, we don’t have cubicles – we hear, see, smell, everything each other does…and it’s starting to drive me INSANE.
One girl is so loud and obnoxious, singing songs that aren’t even on the radio, YELLS at people on the phone and anytime she collects cash (she is in A/R) announces it to the room as if we give a flying f*ck..like this chick has no low volume setting, it’s either silence or 10291092019210 decibles. She also laughs like a big baboon.
4 of them are part of the smokers club and go out once an hour for a cig, some in and stink up the entire office with their wet, cold, smoke filled jackets and throw theirs on top of everyones on the coat rack
2 are part of the salad only lunch club, bring anything in with carbs and you get stared at and silently judged for the entire time you eat lunch. I want to shove a cheeseburger down each of their throats
1 chick smells like she hasn’t showered for about a year and a half, she comes in with holes in her clothes and looking like she did a walk of shame for the last 3 years of her life
and someone doesn’t know how to flush the toilet, leaving AF products and #2 in the toilets .. all… the… time
RANT OVER

Ohhh yuck. What if one of you is gassy that day? Like, do you have to excuse yourself for a moment and then come back so you don’t dust crop everyone?!
That sucks. Headphones and a scented candle could do wonders for you!

Sounds like the only solution is to eat at a chinese buffet every day to contribute your own horridness to this mess! haha!
So sorry for this situation. It sounds awful!

I only work with two other women and one sounds like the first lady you described! She’s loud and rudely opinionated. I don’t usually eat at my desk, just even in my car, to get a small break and some silence haha.

It’s not a woman thing. It’s a shitty human being thing.
I worked in a mixed team in my last job and had all those issues and more. I’m now in an all female team and it’s bliss. So yeah, I’m sure it’s not specifically a female related issue surely? Just a crap colleague issue?

Agree, not a female thing, just a “coworker” thing. Sorry, wouldn’t be better with all guys…

Youre coming across as a bit judgemental. I don’t know why you care if other people choose to eat salads for lunch.
The other stuff…loud coworkers, smoking, BO, and someone not flushing after they poop (www) are definitely nuisances but have nothing to do with being women! Anyway, it sounds like an annoying work environment. Maybe you could look for a new job?

Regardless of gender, I can see how it would be challenging working with 10 people in one enclosed workspace. Maybe you can find ways to block out the things that bother you.

None of that really sounds like ‘woman’ things except for the tampons in the toilet (EWWWW).
Are you allowed to wear head phones?
I sat next to a guy who smokes and I get really bad head aches from certain smells. I quietly spoke with my boss and ended up moving to a different cubicle. I can’t imagine sitting with 4 smokers in a small space like that! Not too mention cigarette breaks that usually occur on the company’s time…

WestCoastV: you missed the point on the salad thing…I love salads as much as anyone, I eat them all the time, my point was that you get food shamed by them if you eat anything but a salad…

ClaudiaKishi: I just meant in general its tough working in a small space with numerous people..but these women are bitchy, all pms at different times so someone is always a bitch..and gossip constantly…they want to bitch and complain more than they want to work. i’ve worked in mixed rooms before, but working with all women is by far the hardest thing i’ve done professional thus far

futuremrscrow: I really really hate the word “bitch” and describing women as “bitchy” and attributing bad moods to PMS and assuming PMS causes all women to be angry/mean/rude. Seriously, comments like this make me sad. Working with all women isn’t the problem, your attitude and internalized misogyny is.

ClaudiaKishi: seems like you’re the type of person who would enjoy to banter back and forth about this forever..I however don’t have time. I posted my rant as an outlet, if you have an issue with it, not my problem
