Hi ladies! I was just wondering if anyone would want to do another note card swap? I know there aren’t a lot of upcoming holidays for a holiday swap, but I didn’t want to wait that long for some new notecards π
So what do you ladies think? Too busy with the upcoming wedding season, summer vacations, etc? Or just the thing you need to do while you’re cooling down from that run to get into your bikini π
Vote in the poll!
Also, here’s the link for the last one, in case you want to see!

@WineAndCupcakes:I’d be interested, but not sure how organized I’d be this close to D-Day.

@Mrs.tobe: hypothetically speaking: what if signup started say next week, and was open for 2 weeks? Partners would then be assigned, and bees would have 3 weeks (only b/c it overlaps 4th of July weekend) to buy/make cards and send out. That puts us mid-July for being done….?
Then we can do a Halloween swap π

Maybe, how many cards for how many bees would you be thinking?

@Mrs.tobe: nah, the last one we had three partners and did three cards/envelopes per partner, so a total of nine cards. I thought it was a good number, not too little, but def not too much, either!

@dolphi99: 3 partners, and 3 cards each. IMO it worked really well for the last swap! Obv we can change if people want to do more/less π

@WineAndCupcakes: And these can be made or bought? Are there any examples of what bees came up with last time? I’d be curious to see. :o)

@Mrs.tobe: I know that there was an email address we could send pictures to, but I know I didn’t send mine (just b/c I didn’t know about the email until like two weeks later lol) but I can post pics of the ones I bought (yup!) and all of the handmade ones I received π

@Mrs.tobe: so I can’t find a pic right now of the ones I received, but I know I have one. I’ll post tomorrow. For now, here are some pics of the ones I bought. I spruced up the envelopes a little since the cards were storebought π

I did three different designs, each bee got one of each.

I wrote their usernames on the front of a card I wrote to them, with cute little wooden bee stickers I found at Michaels. And those hears I punched out ….

I used to decorate the seal.
So, as you can see, the cards I used were cute plain cards from Target, but I still was able to personalize *something* really easily. Each card took me maybe 5 minutes to do, so 15 minutes tops π

@WineAndCupcakes:Cute! So you send them through snail mail?
Sorry, I am totally clueless on all of this….
And how do yu get paired? Randomly?

@Mrs.tobe: Yeah, it’s through snail mail. It’s ok, I was clueless the first time, too π So the pairing is (as far as I know) random. A Hostess, yrret107, set it up through swapbot.com. There’s more info in this link (diff than the one I posted above):
http://boards.weddingbee.com/topic/wb-note-card-swap-is-now-open-sign-up-by-sun-march-27th#post-1919790
But you sign up for it at the swapbot.com site, totally free. Then after the signup period is closed (whatever date we hypothetically pick) nobody else can signup, and then partners are automatically assigned. Then after that, you can see your partners address, b/c you need to know where to send the cards! But, only your partners and the moderater of the swap will see your address, it’s not like all of WB will get it π
Then there’s a deadline to get the cards out, and then you can rate your partners as to how … well … they stayed within the guidelines, did they actually mail you cards, etc. It’s really easy to use, and I thought the swap was a lot of fun.

@WineAndCupcakes: oh I got yours!! Thank you…they are so cute. I actually used the colored polka dot one for a friend’s birthday card last month!
I would definitely do the swap again. I really enjoyed it last time because I got so many pretty note cards!
