- Wedding: June 2016 - Sassafraz in Toronto, Ontario
Toronto is amazing, but it is sooooooo expensive. I will never own a house here, and I’ve lived here my whole life.
Now, I don’t know your financial situation, but if the cost is a problem I’d suggest something on the GO Transit line. You can still get to the city quickly and comfortably.

I love TO, born and raised there. I live abroad now, but will definitely retire back in TO.

Loving all of the Toronto love here. But yes, the cost of living is nuts.

I lived in Toronto for more than 10 years. I had the same feelings as you did when I moved there from a suburb. It is a beautiful city but the costs of living are awful and not worth it. There is lots to do though and I can see the allure if you’re from a comparatively small town. I also think you gain a different perspective once you’ve lived in Toronto for a long time.
My husband and I live an hour north of Toronto and we love how quiet and clean it is up here. We would never move back but at least we had the city experience.
It is possible for you to save money and live your dream?

We had to move to buy a house. Only rich people can buy a home in Toronto now.
I’m waiting for the utter shitshow once the housing bubble bursts.

I live just outside Toronto, but grew up in the GTA. I love it here but living outside the downtown centre definitely makes it more affordable.. Rent and Owning in the city is insane.

I’ve never lived anywhere else and I probably never will. Toronto is amazing, yes there are downsides, but frankly, living here is awesome. T-dot love all the way!!! #viewsfromthesix
Edit – I am by no means rich, and I own a house in Toronto. It’s possible, you just need to work hard and come across a little bit of luck. We bought last fall, and thank god we did cause our house has already gone up probably 100k in value.
