Hey yall! I am a Queens native, and at this point in my search I feel like the well has run dry in terms of finding new venues in the city. I have my eyes set on Tosca Marquee in the BX, buuuuut if I choose them I won’t be able to hold my ceremony in the same space (technically I could but I don’t want cocktail hr in reception space). The Fi’s fams are telling me to try NJ because they are cheaper and very beautiful.
So do any of you wonderful bees know of any venues in NJ (affordable, 50-70 pp range) not far from manhattan? Or if the NJ brides could suggest which counties/towns to look in that are close to Manhattan? Would be gladly appreciated!!
Thanks! Hope to hear from you all soon!

@pudgybudgie: Hi! I’m a born and bred Queens girl now living in NJ 🙂
I don’t know of any in the $50-70 pp range, but my venue is $85 pp with a 140 minimum for Saturday nights. This includes separate rooms for ceremony, cocktail hour and reception.
It’s the Colonial Inn in Norwood, NJ. It’s pretty close off 9W in Bergen County – probably about a 45 minute drive from Queens.

Sussex County, NJ is about an hour (plus traffic) – not sure if that’s too far, but there are a lot of GREAT prices out that way. We had one banquet manager take off $10pp just because we asked! go figure.

@pudgybudgie: the greycliff in moonachie is very resonably priced.
the Fiesta in Hasbrouck Heights is fairly cheap too. I believe my friend is paying 90 pp for their most expensive package on a Saturday night.
The Empire club is very nice and i believe that is in Little Ferry.
Their is also the Liberty House in Jersey City and also the Chart House in Weehawkin. I dont know how expensive these are though.
The last 2 are the closest to Manhattan, the others i listed are probably 15 min away once you get over the GwB OR the Lincoln Tunnel.

Pantagis renaissance is low priced too… One bee mentioned the Greycliff & the Empire club… Those 2 venues are pretty nice.

What kind of venue are you looking for? There is the W-Hotel in Hoboken and there are charming old churches nearby for the ceremony. Also there is liberty house with stunning views of Manhattan. They have several options/rooms and can cater to your wedding size.
