I don’t know what your budget is, but I’d highly recommend Wes Jones (http://www.filmjones.com).  He is based in the NY/NJ area and flew to Burlington, VT for my wedding, also shot Mrs. Snow Pea’s NYC wedding and just shot Mrs. Flamingo’s wedding in Canada (because she loved my video so much).  You can see my Super 8 footage: http://www.weddingbee.com/2007/12/17/super-8mm-wedding-video/

Wes also shoots in digital film, so you get both.  We just had him shoot, and not edit the footage because we couldn’t afford to do both at the time.  We figured we’d save up to edit it later, but we could never go back to capture the footage.

Tell him Mrs. Onion sent you! 😉

we’re using Well Spun Weddings. They offer Super 8 although we opted to have them shoot in HD. They are based in Philly but they have camera people in NYC. All the editing is done in their Philly studio. They are super responsive and I believe they shot one of the Bee’s weddings as well…but I can’t remember who. Mrs Candy Corn maybe?

Our wedding isn’t for another few months so I can’t review them on their finished product but as far as pricing and customer service, so far they’ve been outstanding.

Mrs Candy Corn, can you tell us what package you picked? I signed a contract for a one song edit but am wondering if the three song is worth it.

Also did they use at tripod for your ceremony? It’s an extra fee now so I don’t know if it’s worth it.

If you’re blogging about this feel free to tell me to be patient! Ha.

Thanks!

English muffin, this is the cheapest videographer I found in the area.  I think for what we paid our video its perfect and you definitely want a video!  My one regret is I didn’t pay him a little more to stay the remainder of the night.  My 10 hours was up right after cake cutting.  He is based in Bloomfield, NJ which is about 20 minutes west of the city.

hi habibi,

eep, i’m sorry i never responded until now. i picked the basic 8 hour package of just pretty much a dvd of the footage edited into chapters and then the raw tapes. i made my own videos pretty easily on the windows movie maker since i didn’t have the money to shell out for them to do their music video edits. i love their work, it’s just not in our budget to do the fancy stuff 🙂 i don’t believe they used a tripod….the videographer had this cool gadget that attached the camera to his body basically so the movements were very fluid and nice…not like bouncy or anything. if you want to email me for specifics or see the videos even, email me! ([email protected]) 🙂
