My venue is Lippincott Manor in the Hudson Valley, about an hour and a half north of the city by train.  (The website does NOT do it justice).  You can have an outdoor ceremony and a tented reception there, and the food is yummy.  Their tent is included in the price, as is the food, linens, plates, etc.

If you want to bring your own tent, there are a lot of other options in the Hudson Valley as well.  If you are interested in the area, let me know and I’ll try to find a couple of websites that were helpful to me.

We went to a wedding last June at Whistlewood Farms in Rhinebeck.  They had set up a tent and small dance floor in the middle.  The night before they had an excellent BBQ dinner right off the open fire pit to the side. Her family stayed at the B&B with her.

@cgdnyc: What’s your budget? That determines everything else.

I am getting married at the Grandview in Poughkeepsie in the outdoor ballroom aka.. the tent! I went there and fell in love.  The view is to die for.  I’m not sure I would say it’s unique but it’s beautiful.  Everything is there so you don’t have to rent EVERYTHING.. That’s the one thing I didnt like about most other tented weddings, you need to rent the tables, chairs, plates, linens, dance floor… and so on and so on.  I also really loved that everyone could stay at The Grand Hotel and the trolley will bring them back and forth they don’t have to worry about transportation.

All this definitely matters what your budget is.
