I’m getting married on 10-3-10 and I thought I’d share some of my money saver tips…
My dress is a plain ivory satin mermaid gown and I thought a rhinestone belt would really make the dress special. The belts that Kleinfeld’s and other stores were selling were anywhere from $300-$1800!!!!
I went to M&J Trimming and made a belt for $70. Funny thing is, if you look on Etsy, you’ll find that most of the “sparkly bridal type stuff” is made with stuff you’ll find at M&J. I needed something sparkly to jazz up my wedding shoes and found it at M&J for $10. I bought my veil there too. Bethany is the gal that works in the Bridal salon section and she’s soooo nice. If you’re doing any DIY type projects I recommend going there to check it out.
Also, it’s worth noting that Ann Taylor has some GORGEOUS jewelry and headbands right now. I bought a rhinestone headband for $26 and then cut it and glued it to barrettes (I’m wearing my hair down with one side pulled back). I also bought all my bridesmaid necklaces there.
Just thought I’d spread the word.
