ilovesophia:  i get it, Kadella is a private jewler, different experience than dealing with some of the sketchy sellers in the diamond district. I’ve met Josh, very likeable guy, trustworthy, and won’t give unwanted opinions, He really listens to what YOU want

We had a great experience with Ara at AY Jewelry. He is old school (does ring sizing right in front of you, in about 10 minutes.) While we were there, other jewelers were stopping in with jewelry that needed repairing (they must contract with him, I guess.) He is a true craftsman, wonderfully priced, and honest. No storefront, but he can make anything you want from scratch (he made my diamond wedding band) and beautifully modified my engagement ring. He’s at 20 W. 47th St. I found him by reading all his great Yelp reviews. Fantastic jeweler.

ilovesophia:  That’s so great to hear! We resized my engagement ring – a family heirloom – significantly with DeNatale and they did such a fantastic job. The quote they gave us was also so much lower than other jewelers in the financial district.

ilovesophia:  How funny!  It’s totally possible that it was my ring!  It was sized down to a 4/4.25 (they called it a “full 4”) from something like a size 7.  They sized me as being a size 4, but I wanted it a little bit bigger – just personal preference.
