I posted this on the knot NYC boards & all I got was the typical vistaprint response. I recieved their sample packet & was a bit disappointed w/ the quality of the paper types. I am looking to do my own save the dates, but because my printer is a dinky little one sheet at a time printer I want to use a real printer. I’ve done some google/yelp searches, but was hoping someone might have a recommendation of a printer in the NYC/LI/Bklyn/Queens vincinity.
Basically I want to do a photostrip (in classic photostrip shape) that i will be turning into a bookmark. So, it’s not a typical size & I’ll need cutting done as well (why I can’t just do something easier is beyond me haha)
Thanks in advance!

I’ve used Shield Press in Manhattan at my old job for business cards and notepads, and my boyfriend used them for business cards. I think they do really good work and try to make you super happy. If you could make an appointment to go in and speak with Brian, he should be able to help you with paper options. While I know they cost a bit more than online quotes, they quality is really top notch (online business cards we’ve ordered have felt flimsy and sometimes cut a bit off the margin).

We used Print Icon, near Union Square, for our Save the Dates. They do really nice work and are very helpful.

This isn’t NYC, but my friend ordered 2″x8″ bookmarks for her Save-The-Date Cards through gotprint.net and is totally happy with them. I ordered their paper samples too and was plesantly surprised by the quality.
