Hi everyone! Trying to book my wedding for next October and I’m looking for something different. In a matter of the last 2 weeks, about 4 different people have recommended having a wedding cruise on a yacht. I’m not totally sold on it but my fiancé really likes the idea. the idea of being on a boat and seeing the skyline lit up at night is alluring but has anyone ever done this?
i can’t tell if its cool or kinda lame. Advice or suggestions on this idea/specific yachts? Thanks so much!

Some people I know had theirs on a boat recently. Super pricey, but it was really nice and something I had not seen before. If you can afford it go for it!

@Whatsupjen: KimmySumShuga recently had a wedding on a yacht, albeit on the West Coast. Hopefully we will see some recaps soon.
Check out her posts for some ideas.

We chartered a riverboat for our wedding and it really couldn’t have been better (the only yacht charters here in dc were too small for our group so we picked the riverboat). All of our guests loved cruising up the river, even the locals who have seen the city skyline a hundred times. It was really special, plus we got the best of both worlds: incredible scenery and natural settings, but all the creature comforts like air conditioning, nice bathrooms, and a roof over our heads (it rained for part of the day). No problems at all with motion sickness for anyone. It was elegant, classy, and romantic, plus with the skyline and the decor on the boat, we only had to do a tiny bit of decorating. Didn’t need to dress it up.
One thing that I’d change if I had it to do over would be to have extended by 30 minutes or so, to have a few last dances or a little more mingling time upon return to the docks.
