We are meeting with Faze4 this weekend. Will let you know how it goes, but take a look at their website. Personally, we are interested in Christopher Michaels and Metropolis, but they have quite a few bands to choose from.

We had a Hank Lane band for our wedding.  While they did a good job and everyone liked the music they played, I was disappointed in their service.  Our band played several songs from our do-not-play list, and kinda messed up our intro song.  There obviously was no coordination between the band leader and the representative we met with.

Dash of Class is amazing. They did my Brother-In-Law and SIL’s weddings and I’m using them for mine as well. At both of their weddings, I literally was dancing all night and they played all different types of music and got everyone on the floor. I highly recommend them. Here’s the website:

teresaRose.m:  Totally forgot about this thread, I am glad I caught it on the front page!

We booked through Faze 4 this weekend. Like I said, we had been recommended both Hank Lane & Faze 4 as the only recommended bands by my caterer (he said we could use anyone we’d like, of course, but he said if it were his wedding, he’d go with one of these 2). He mentioned to me that with Hank Lane, unless you are paying an arm & leg for one of their “ALWAYS SET” bands, it is possible that the people playing at your wedding will be playing together for the first time AT the event (as in they normally play for others, but due to overbooking or whatever have never met before the night of your wedding). (Ironically, the photographer that we booked this weekend mentioned the exact same thing to us, said that Hank Lane can be fantastic, but can also be inconsistent due to band members meeting each other for the first time at the wedding. I was floored that it had been mentioned to me twice by 2 different people!)

I had seen one of Faze4’s bands at my cousin’s wedding, and they were great. However, upon suggestion from my mom, she told me to watch all of the feature bands for Faze4 and I just fell in LOVE with Metropolis. They are so much fun to listen to, they all sound wonderful and they are very active on the stage it seems. (I also love the front man, Elijah- I just think he’s adorable!) We went, we spoke to Bob (who is in charge), he is very nice and charming, and we sent in a deposit this morning. I am EXTREMELY happy with my choice, and I’ve literally been nothing but smiles since we left.

To top it all off, their prices also beat out Hank Lane, because the price they quote on the phone at HL is not necessarily for a 9pc band. Metropolis comes standard with 9pc, and while of course every band we see is outrageously priced, Faze4 not only seemed to come better recommended, but also was less expensive. We did not even visit HL for an appointment.

If you have any questions, PLEASE dont’ hesitate to PM me, I’m so happy to talk about it! Good luck!

We had a DJ and he was amazing – people danced the whole night and we had tons of compliments on the music. My sister used him for her wedding as well with the same result. His name is Jay McElfresh. I loved Hank Lane but live music was way out of the budget.

Sound House from Elan Artists played at a friend’s wedding, and they were AMAZING! Fiance and I tried to book them for our own wedding and they were unavailable but Elan has a lot of great bands.

teresaRose.m:  We used 45 Riots for our March 28 wedding at City Winery in Soho. We had four pieces (guitar, piano, trumpet, percussion) for our all Beatles pre-ceremony and ceremony music. We had a three piece jazz trio (bass, sax, percussion) for our cocktail hour, then we had a full 9 piece band (two vocals, singing guitar, singing drums, piano, bass, trumpet, saxaphone, guitar) for our reception. They were totally incredible and we received so many compliments. At the end of the night our guests were chanting for an encore – no joke! Working with Adam Mason, the bass player was an absolute dream. He was so responsive and friendly. http://www.45riots.com

teresaRose.m:  I used Trio Productions for our wedding and let me say my dance floor was full form beginning to end.

Garry was our MC and the 2 DJs were amazing. I danced from the moment we were announced all the way to the end, I ran to my table, took a few bites to eat and danced some more.

They have an office in Staten Island and Brooklyn
