Not bad- still quite a few details to work out but I’m a last minute kind of person.

And with only a couple weeks left until the wedding the cheque book is getting a real workout.  Balance owing on everything!  πŸ™‚ (except photography)

ugh, trying not to have a meltdown every other day. πŸ™

my family (primarily my grandmother, an aunt, and my grandma’s annoying brother) is kind of being a pain about the whole guest list thing and the extended family (i.e. my dad’s aunts/uncles/cousins) not being invited; despite the fact that i don’t even know half of them, and haven’t seen the ones i do know in over two years! so i’ve been feeling pretty shitty lately. i’ve cried far too many times over it because i feel like my grandmother is distancing herself from me, the fiance, and my parents (whom, btw, have nothing to do with the guest list!). and all along i thought she was going to be the most supportive. πŸ™

i have to keep telling myself (and the fiance and my mom remind me often too) that there are a ton more people that are happy and excited for us. i can’t let two people ruin the love that is emitted from 200+ people. it just sucks when the one that’s hurt me the most is my grandmother! that’s a hard pill to swallow. but anyway…

… enough with the sad, lol.

we’re 18 (omg.eighteen!) days away from the wedding and i am in super to-do-list-tackling mode! i’ve been sending emails and making phone calls confirming all final payments to vendors today, and setting up final appointments, and confirming delivery dates of last minute online orders. and we’re going shopping tonight to pick up the last of the little random things we need (ring bearer pillows (oops!), pens for the wish tree, picture frames for signs, etc.).

oh, and we got our marriage license this past friday, which was holy-shit exciting! πŸ˜€

i cannot beleive it’s almost here!!!

how are the rest of you ladies doing? anybody else face major family drama?

ugh. we’re missing quite a few rsvp’s too (and our deadline was dec.1st!). althought the difference isn’t quite as substantial as yours – ours is a difference of ~25 people, but still! lol.

how many centerpieces do you have to make? if i were remotely close to you, i’d totally lend some help, lol!

eeep, hair trial – i have yet to even schedule mine! =O

the one semi-big thing still lingering is our dang ceremony programs. grr. i’m hoping to be done with those by this weekend. the layout is pretty much done, we’re just missing a few bits of info here and there that need to be thrown in before we can have them printed.

the next 18 days are going to fly by!

yay! how exciting! i’ve had my makeup trial already and my dress is completely altered and ready for the big day – hopefully i don’t gain like 20 pounds in the next 18 days, haha!

Waiting on RSVPs and ironing out the final logistical details (who needs to be where when and how are they getting there). Need to decide who will be doing readings (I have no idea why we waited til the last minute on this one) and need to finish the ceremony programs. Need to pick up some supplies from a friend. Other than that, we’re about there!

I’m so last minute- haven’t done my trials yet, haven’t put my dress on in two months, haven’t done programs, haven’t got all my material for centerpieces but I’m sure it will all be fine…

The RSVP thing is annoying.  I’m not sure that people get it.  I had the Future Mother-In-Law call some of her family to figure out if they were coming and some of them said that they didn’t think that they needed to reply because we weren’t having a sit down dinner.  If that was the case then I wouldn’t have spent all the money on RSVP cards and return stamps!

Thankfully I’m not waiting on 50 rsvp’s.  I’d be really cranky.

rsvp’s are annoying. we’re waiting to hear back from some of the fiance’s family, so fmil called (it’s her brother and his family) and asked if they were coming – their response: “we’re not sure if we’re going. we’ll see what’s going on that day and if we can make it, we will.” wtf kind of answer is that!? either you’re coming or your not! oh, and btw, thanks for taking our wedding seriously, lol.

now before i get flamed, i know that our wedding isn’t as important to everybody else as it is to me us, but i really do think it’s not nice to say ‘we’re holding out to see if something better comes along.’

fmil just wants us to include them in the dinner headcount to have plates for them just in case they show up. we’re talking 6 people here, at $40/plate. umm, no. if they haven’t made up their mind by the 20th, they’re counted as no’s. same rules apply to my family/friends that haven’t responded.

some people just don’t get it. grr.

@Linz1231:  OMG- that’s brutal!

@future.mrs.v:  One of our RSVPs is like that too, they ‘might’ come……thanks people!
