I am also getting married on NYE. Its not our first wedding for either of us so we wanted to do something a little less wedding like and we LOVE NYE. We are not sure when exactly we are going to get married yet, still trying to meet with our priest to find out if NYE is an option. If not, we might just get married the day before with just family. We have a place for the reception and a few other back ups. Haven’t really dont much just trying to figure out what we want. We are going to have a cocktail reception – starting about 8 or 830, going until at least 1. Colors – (the obvious) silver, white, and maybe red. I want crystals, candles. My dress (I’ve had it for over a year) is very dramatic, swaroski crystals spagetti straps, backless. Interested in ideas anyone might have.

So excited! It feels like the year is flying by.
Did you guys find yourself “changing” your wedding to make it even EXTRA special with it being NYE.
We are debating going black tie since most people get really dressed up for new years anyway.

We are expecting that people will probably dress us a bit more, since it is NYE. My dress is definitely a bit more glitzy than I had originally thought, but I am thrilled with what it looks like now. It has to be glitzy… its NYE.
Is anyone planning on having New Years favors? Like hats, tiara’s and noise makers? Are you planning on buying them in bulk? or online?

We definitely stepped it up a bit and are going more formal. I’m wearing the Fiorella. What dress are you ladies wearing?
We are going to do the noisemakers and I have no clue where we are buying them yet (any suggestions?). We are also going to stream on the big screen the countdown from Time Square. We got engaged on NYE, so it’s only fitting!
I can’t believe only 6 months to go!!!

ooh, ooh! we’re totally doing hats, tiaras, noisemakers, etc.! party city sells them in bulk on their website. we’re getting ours from a local party store that my parents’ friend manages – he’s giving us pretty nice discounts. otherwise, i’d probably go with the party city ones.
here’s the link to their party kits – which, btw, are 50% off right now! 😀

Definately planning on the hats, noisemakers, tiaras etc…
Our dress code will be Black Tie Invited…our friends are so excited to go out on NYE, most of my friends are already planning dress shopping weekends.
We have a reception place now – its our favorite restaurant…and the owner is excited too.
Now what about flowers? I love tulips – apparently they are in season in Dec – but does anyone have any other ideas? Are tulips stupid in December?

Oh – and here’s a picture of my dress…I think it isn’t very flattering on the model – I bought it two years ago at a sample sale and got an amazing deal.

I am having a NYE wedding too, I love the idea and am also planning lots of candles and crystals!
We didn’t do black tie, but I am hoping people get a little extra dolled up!

@future.mrs.v: Thanks for the info about the 50% off sale! I think I’ll have to get on that! Since I’ve seen these pictures, I knew I wanted hats and noisemakers:
I’m planning to have a bridal min-top hat made to wear during the reception.
