Im from new new Zealand and its such a tragedy.  We’ve never ever had anything like this happen here. So sick and this country has always been viewed as so safe.

One of the gunmen did it here in New Zealand as they knew nobody would suspect it. Nz is one of the most peaceful countries with such low crime.

May everyone who died, rest in peace.

It breaks my heart to see this and my thoughts are with all affected and the country of New Zealand. I’ve visited twice for a month each time to train skiing in your winter (Colorado summer) and always found it to be the most beautiful, kind, welcoming and peaceful country. This is awful. I want no other country to live in the fear and constant heart ache we’ve come to expect in the US.

Very, very sad. I am just wondering if some of the reports about there being 2 gunmen are true? That the police are searching for a second one?

hockeybee0104 :  thanks bee. Ive never even come across any white supremacists here. Just disgusting. This sort of thing we always think happens so far from home. Just a tragedy

lifeisbeeutiful :  four have been arrested.  3 males and a female. One Australian but the others might be kiwis. 2 years it took them to plan.

fran01 :  it does. Ive never ever felt scared of terrorism here. We’ve never been invaded here in war either. Being so isolated from the rest of the world helps.

Absolutely tragic and scary to see that 4 people were involved in this. So evil. I just worry that sick, twisted people at home will want to copy-cat these horrible acts after seeing so much of the news coverage for media fame.

fran01 :  i haven’t seen the live stream. My husband said its all over facebook. Christchurch has had such a hard time – only 8 years ago they were affected by a deadly earthquake.

I don’t live there any more but Christchurch is my home town. Today’s events are just horrific – Christchurch and its people have been through so much already and now this. All my friends and family are fine (my brother is a doctor at the hospital but wasn’t at work today, he won’t be called in due to not being in emergency medicine or a surgeon) but I’m so upset for my city.
