I wonder if anyone can shed some light on this situation, since it’s after hours, and I can’t find out until tomorrow if I’m even going to be able to go in to the doctor…
I am having my IUD replaced tomorrow, with a new one. It’s been 10 years. It’s a copper IUD. I moved 3 years ago, and have forgotten which clinic I got it at. There are TONS of OBGYNs in my hometown.
Well, I got a voicemail from my new doctor telling me that they need my records of my IUD placement (“who and when” it said, whatever that means). Am I going to be refused tomorrow? I don’t understand why they need it. It’s coming out. I’m getting a new one. I understand if it’s insurance related, but all of that can get adjusted later.
I’m just so mad that they waited until the day before my appointment to tell me.
I would hope that if they couldn’t proceed with the appointment, they would have said as much. I asked off work for the whole day just so I could go home and take any necessary pain meds/recover, as I remember the process not being very fun for me. And my employers are SO prickly about any time I ask off for.
Anyone in the medical field know what could possibly be the outcome of this?
