I also agree that this dress looks pretty great on you. I think you are nitpicking honestly (and this comes from someone VERRRRY nitpicky!)
I love the halter strap. I wish it had a longer train, but I don’t think it’s a deal-breaker for me and its DEFINITELY not a reason to have Jasmine’s re-make the dress.
I don’t think a Jasmine’s replica will look as nice as this one does, and then you are out all this money at David’s Bridal!!!
Here are my thoughts:
- Leave the waist straight. It is infinitely more flattering than the asymetrical waist
- Can you have a cathedral veil instead? I have a shorter train and I wish I had a longer one. But I don’t, so I got a cathedral veil instead. It gave me some oomph and let me love my dress for what it is.
- I LOVE the black sash! LOVE IT! But I think it needs to be thinner! Like a skinnier sash, I think this one is a little too wide.

Here is a dress with a similar shape but a much thinner sash. More flattering in my opinion:

already purchased cathedral veil, but good suggestion. Am reminding myself I won’t have to bustle this gown, which I know I’ll appreciate day-of. Personally, I like my thick sash. I think the thin one looks odd, or maybe it’s just the models arms being tiny and pointy. I might tie my sash differently than my consultant tied it in pics. Its a very lengthy sash, and she doubled it around me and tied it in that bow. I think I’d wrap once and leave some hanging from an odd bow in true Vera bride style.
Also guys I just remembered: YOU DON’T ALTER VERA TO FIT YOU, YOU ALTER YOURSELF TO FIT VERA! I can’t believe I forgot life’s ultimate law!

ehrmagherd I just saw your post buried between text walls. Sailor Moon forevarz! I still toy with the idea of wearing both Usagi hair and my Manga Neo Queen Serenity costume down the aisle (*^﹏^*) it’d be awesome if you went down the aisle to moonlight densetsu
Me, my dress, chapel veil. Though I ended up getting one of same length, mine has a blusher as well.

@usagidollie: no no no to a train, but get a veil that is super long! Something made with simple, inexpensive fabric that is a block long!
I love that dress, it’s so fun and flirty! And I don’t even normally like black belts, but that one is sassy! It’s just adorable on you!
edited to add:
I just saw your last post, so gald to see that you took my advice so qickly, about the looooooong veil I mean! haha

I love your dress as is, and I wouldn’t make any of the changes you’re thinking of. In your photos, you really are wearing that dress, and it all seems so well-balanced. It’s designed beautifully, and is special as it is.
I think the black belt looks great, but if you are wanting a blush addition, you could try a blush sash instead. I also like the idea of a blush crinoline. I’ve seen some great pictures of brides wearing large, colorful necklaces. If you add a bouquet of pale pink roses, you might have all the pink touches you need.

yes after reading your post before you posted it, I was like “it’s eight at night but by George, I must own the long veil this very instant!” Think you so much for bringing me to my senses ♡
I haven’t even considered my accessories yet, so I could try out some pink pieces. I was definitelyi going to have pink flowers. Our wedding theme is Cherry Blossoms
so there will be mountains of delicate pink flowers everywhere!

Okay so I’ve gone and put my dress back on because I am out sick from work today but Fiance is at work.
I did, like, a mini-photo shoot where I put on some quickie makeup, derped around with my hair, and played music while I let my phone do some self-timer magic 😀
Why am I posting this? Because I’m gonna put those photos in a new thread. I just wanted to say that you ALL have been wonderful with your suggestions, and I’m definitely in love with my dress again after putting it on and hearing unbiased opinions about my dress.
Thank you hive. <3
