What is rhodium plated silver? I didn’t know silver had to be re-dipped like white gold! Or what do you mean?

I love that color!  Dishsoap and water is good enough, I think it’s a waste going to a jeweller to get a ring “cleaned” but re-dipped is different though!

Tips & Warnings

  •  Use a polishing cloth for extra shine after the jewelry is completely dried.

  •  Wear gloves if your hands are sensitive to the detergent.

  •  Never use harsh chemicals or ultrasonics; the rhodium plating may rub off more quickly.

@LittleAudrey:  That is so interesting! How do I know if any of my silver is plated and I shouldn’t use silver polish?? (sorry for threadjacking)

I just use dish washing liquid on my plated silver rings. I poor some into a very warm cup of water, stir it up – then let the rings soak for about 5 minutes. Rinse then dry!

I am sure anything you do to clean the ring will and can rub away the plating after so long. But that will happen either way. Just get it replated.

This method seems to be the softest & easiest way though. 🙂

i have a similar ring! Mine was exactly the same, but someone bought the whole set of earrings, necklace and ring and had it reset with diamonds and white gold!  Mine cost a bit more, but the best part of it is that padaprashpa sapphire haha.

I dont have any suggestions, just wanted to say I have basically the same ring!

I don’t have any photos other then my Iphone one. Like I said, the difference between ours is that mine was reset. The guy who bought the whole set just wanted the necklace and earrings after seeing them all reset, so I got the ring on a huge discount, as it was the only part left. The band on mine doesn’t taper in like your’s does, and the basket is changed around completely.
